Awards season keeps on chugging along, in the aftermath of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association having revealed its picks for the best of the best in cinema (and TV) in 2015 during the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony (the 88th iteration of the Oscars event overall) - have now been announced too, courtesy of Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs and actor John Krasinski, with assistance from directors Ang Lee and Guillermo del Toro.
With such films as director Alejandro González Iñárritu's man vs. nature survival/revenge thriller The Martian having won big prizes during the 2016 Golden Globes show, along with such performers as Brie Larson and Leonardo DiCaprio, that makes them the front-runner (or one of them) at the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony too. Whether or not they shall have equal success at the Oscars as they did during the Golden Globes though, that remains to be seen.
