Outriders is the ideal game to play cooperatively. Playing with friends will give players an advantage over their environment and enemies. Although there is the option to play alone, some parts are best suited to play with others. Moments, such as the final fight against Yagak, will take teamwork and a lot of dodging to win.
Players will face off against Yagak in Utargak. The first encounter with Yagak can be completed pretty easily. After that, however, the fight will take a turn. For players who are looking to beat out this enemy but are struggling, here are a few tips of what to expect during this fight.
Defeating Yagak in Outriders
Yagak will need to be battled in a few different encounters. In total, you'll have to face him twice. Each time, his strength progresses a little bit.
Players will need to use distance to their advantage. Be sure to keep an eye open for red circles on the ground, and use minions to keep healed up. While doing all this, it's important to keep doing damage. His abilities during this fight are a Chain Combo, where Yagak will slice and dice the battlefield until he reaches you. He also has Lightning strikes, where several red circles will appear on the ground. These are the spots where Yagak will call lightning down from the sky. Finally, his last move is Overload, where he'll be surrounded by a blue shield which will make him invincible to damage for a few seconds. Then, he'll unleash electricity onto those near him.
When Yagak comes at players with his melee swipes, back up and run. His lightning strikes can be easily maneuvered because the players should be able to see when the attack is coming. When it comes to Overload, players will need to keep an eye open. Yagak can summon a few berserker mobs during this time. It's the ideal moment to heal up and get some good kills in.
The first encounter only has one phase, so once Yagak is defeated, there will be a cutscene where he runs away. This is the time to open the chest in the room and pick up the loot. The rewards from the chest will depend on the character's level and World Tier when the Yagak boss fight started.
The second encounter with Yagak is considerably more difficult. Players will have more phases in this fight, so there will be more attack styles to keep an eye out for. Yagak will continue to use his Overload ability, but he'll add a few new ones in during the fight. Anomaly Rifts will have Yagak spawn two floating orbs that work at turrets. Although the projectiles that it shoots are slow, it will definitely hurt if it hits the player. Anomaly Rifts can be destroyed or sidestepped to be avoided. Whenever Yagak casts this ability, he can spawn more, so keeping the number down at least could prove beneficial. Sand Wyrm will show a straight blue line that, after a couple of seconds, will send a line of lightning through this space. Grasping Shock will create a circle around Yagak after he teleports. Then, electricity will rush into this spot.
Additionally, Yagak won't summon mobs during this first phase of the fight. Unfortunately, destroying Anomaly Rifts won't count as kills either, which means the player can't rely on "On-Kill" perks or mods to keep their health bar up. Try adding a mod to the character's weapon if available for additional health.
After the first part of Yagak's health bar is depleted, there will be another short cutscene. This will end with the player finding themselves in a desert plane with a few warrior-type mobs around. This is the perfect time to heal up and get ready for the next phase, which will happen once the next area is reached.
In the final phase of the fight, Yagak adds a few new moves that could definitely take the player out if they're not ready. Chain Lightning will allow Yagak to fire lightning bolts in the player's direction. Grappling Hook will show a straight blue line, where Yagak will dash down. Hook Smash allows Yagak to do a multi-hit combo. This move will start with a blue circle around him, where he'll smash his weapon in a wide arc. Finally, Force Field will be initiated when Yagak punches the ground and he'll be immobilized and shielded. After that, he'll summon four berserker mobs to come for the player. This is the perfect opportunity to get any extra kills and heals that the player may want.
The best time to strike will be when Yagak has finished his Overload shield. This will allow the player to take down his minions and regen health at the same time. Once players do this, hit Yagak with all the player's skills and fry him while he's in the middle of his casting animation or multi-hit combo. These are the moments he's move vulnerable.
Once the player defeats Yagak, there will be an ending cinematic for Outriders. The player will find themselves in a small campsite where they can run some endgame Expeditions. Additionally, there is some loot to snag from defeating Yagak. It will be inside a chest next to the Expedition table. More than likely, there will be a legendary item waiting for the player.
Outriders is now available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
