Ozark season 4 will bring the critically-acclaimed series to a close. The final season of the show is airing in two seven-episode parts. Netflix previously released a video announcing that the first part of Ozark season 4 will debut on January 21, 2022. However, the streaming giant hasn't released a date for the second half of the season. In addition to trailers, Ozark has also released several photos teasing the events of season 4.

Netflix's latest Ozark teaser trailer hints at a tragic ending. The new trailer, which often shows shots of the Byrde family in a car crash, rewinds the shocking events of the series' first three seasons. In one moment, the teaser reverses the scene where cartel leader Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) shockingly shoots Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), a cartel lawyer and the Byrdes' enemy, in the season 3 finale. Another scene shows Wendy's brother, Ben (Tom Pelphrey), harassing Helen and her daughter at their house, an act that ultimately costs him his life. While the teaser rewinds the scenes, words appear, reading, "No ending is reached by accident." The Ozark season 4 trailer hints at one message in every way: The past is catching up with the Byrdes.

Jason Bateman and Laura Linney in Ozark Season 4

Everything about the teaser says the Byrdes can't escape their history. Through the show's first three seasons, the Byrdes continue to find their way out of dire situations miraculously. It all started in the series premiere when Marty somehow talked his way out of being executed after his partner stole from the cartel. The escapes become more unbelievable, culminating in Navarro choosing the Byrdes over Helen in the season 3 finale. But it appears the family's luck has run out. As the text reads, the dark ending won't be an "accident." The Byrdes are about to reap what they sow.

The Netflix series can't conclude in any way besides tragedy. Ozark is dark, literally and figuratively, and the show has just gotten more disturbing over the years. In season 1, the Snells cut a baby out of mom-t0-be Grace Young (Bethany Anne Lind), murdering her in the process. In Season 3, Wendy leaves her brother to die at the hands of a cartel hitman. The show constantly tries to up its tragedies, and Ozark season 4 likely won't be any different. For hints of where the show goes in the future season, look to its past.
