Console War" that generally consists of an Xbox and PlayStation ers arguing for their supremacy of their selected device has waged for years with many within the video game industry have grown tired of the debate. Such was the occassion when one avid Palworld player took to social media to contrast the creature-collecting survival game against one of Sony's most recent popular experiences.

Posting to X (formerly Twitter), Palworld community manager Bucky responded to a post comparing Palworld's success to Helldivers 2 by simply stating that such a debate is entirely unnecessary and unproductive.

The developer, who has earned a reputation as being very ive of the game's player base, stated that seeing Palworld used to insult another game "breaks [their] heart" before explaining that such arguments are an outdated example of "Console War" rhetoric. Bucky's response has been well recieved by the Palworld community who largely agree that Palworld and Helldivers 2 can't be compared given that they're fundamentally different experiences.

It's undeniable that Helldivers 2 and Palworld are successful in their own rights but in of Xbox, Pocket Pair's survival game proved to be a surprise hit when it managed to rake in millions of players. Launching on both PC and Xbox Game , it managed to instantly find an audience due to its sprawling map, plethora of crafting recipes, and unique twist on the genre that also serves as a parody of the Pokémon franchise. The player base has decreased substantially since launch month but many are returning following the announcement of new Pals, game modes and regions.

Shortly after Palworld blew up on Steam and Xbox, Pocket Pair was quick to release an official roap of content that was planned for the game while it remained in Early Access. Some of the additions, substantial improvements like the PvP Arena mode are still in development and slated to release soon. The new game mode will see players working alongside the Pals to battle against one another in an effort to prove themselves the superior trainer.

Palworld is such a fundamenatlly different experience to Helldivers 2 that Bucky's argument against comparisons makes a great deal of sense. While the former is a slower-paced survival game, the latter is an explosive multiplayer shooter that has, rightfully, also proved to be a much bigger success than many initially expected. There's certainly room for both in the industry and stacking them up against one another doesn't really help anyone.
