Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Paradise season 1, episode 7, "The Day."After Xavier's rebellion against her and the upper class who had been concealing secrets from the public.

With episode 6 revealing that Paradise season 1, episode 7's ending brings the mystery back to the forefront as Sinatra demands that Xavier find out who killed the president and restore order in Paradise if he ever wants to see his family again. Xavier does not know who the killer is yet, but I think they were in episode 7's flashbacks.

Sinatra Says The DNA At The Crime Scene Is Not From Anyone Inside The Bunker

The Killer Is Not One Of Paradise's 25,000 Citizens

One of the many reasons Xavier thought Sinatra was behind President Bradford's death was because the DNA from the crime scene never reached the lab for testing. In episode 7, Sinatra tells Xavier that the DNA never reached the lab because it does not belong to any of the 25,000 people living in Paradise. If this is true, President Bradford's killer is not one of Paradise's citizens and is an outside survivor who somehow infiltrated the underground community.

This revelation eliminates nearly every previous suspect from Paradise's murder mystery. The established suspects were all citizens of the community in the present-day timeline. Being an outsider means that the killer will only have been shown in flashbacks from before President Bradford and a select group went underground. In order for the reveal to be impactful in the season 1 finale, it would need to be a known character from the flashbacks who has a good reason for wanting to find and kill the president.

President Bradford’s Former Aide, Marsha, Is An Outsider Who Has Reason To Kill Him

Marsha (Amy Pietz) covering her mouth in Paradise (2025) Season 1 Ep 7

Marsha (Amy Pietz) is an aide who worked for President Bradford at the White House. Due to her years of service with President Bradford, she mistakenly assumes that she and her family will be included in the group that is taken to safety. She is understandably shocked and outraged when she learns that she and her loved ones will be left behind. Marsha is last seen gazing up at the helicopter as it whisks President Bradford and Xavier safely away. If Marsha has survived in the three years since, I think she could be the one who killed the president.

Marsha first appears in episode 6's flashbacks.

She has a reason to hate him and to want him dead after he left Marsha and her family to die despite years of loyalty. Marsha does not seem like a killer in the flashbacks, but three years of surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland will have changed her, as would the deaths of her family. Unfortunately, she does not know about President Bradford's decision to use the blue code, which saved countless lives from nuclear oblivion. The blue code also fried Paradise's outside sensors, which could have enabled Marsha to sneak into the community undetected.

Marsha May Be Coming For Xavier And His Children Next

Xavier Broke His Promise To Her

If Marsha snuck into Paradise and killed President Bradford, she is likely coming for Xavier and his children next. In episode 7's flashbacks, Marsha asks Xavier to promise that he would help her and her family. Xavier makes this promise, only to break it, and to leave Marsha to fend for herself. This broken promise gives her just as much reason to hate Xavier. If she lost her loved ones, she may want Xavier to experience the same anguish, giving her reason to kill Presley (Aliyah Mastin) and James (Percy Daggs IV) before killing him.

It would be surprising for her to be the killer, and she can still cause more harm, including hurting Presley and James, despite Xavier's guaranteed survival in Paradise.

The reveal of President Bradford's killer will feel more personal and devastating if it is Marsha, someone who Xavier let down in a time of need. In Brown's tease of the Paradise season 1 finale, he confirms that the killer is a character who has appeared before and that Xavier will survive and return in season 2. Marsha is a character the audience already knows. It would be surprising for her to be the killer, and she can still cause more harm, including hurting Presley and James, despite Xavier's guaranteed survival in Paradise.
