The town of Pawnee went through many ups and downs throughout the seven seasons of Parks & Recreation, but luckily, its most loyal resident, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), was always ready to help, and she ended up saving her beloved Pawnee twice. Parks & Recreation took the audience to the fictional town of Pawnee to meet the Parks Department crew, led by Leslie Knope. The always optimistic Leslie was ionate about her job in the government and did her best to share that ion with her friends and colleagues, but in the end, she was the one who led them into great things.

Leslie was very vocal about her love for Pawnee, always defending it from the critics of outsiders (especially from the people of Eagleton), and she went as far as to call Pawnee “the greatest town in America” and wrote a book titled just like that. Leslie was always looking after Pawnee and its residents, even if these were sometimes rude and offensive to her, and she went to lengths to make sure her beloved town was safe – and she actually saved Pawnee twice, and counted on the help of her friends to do so.

Pawnee’s problems began in Parks & Recreation season 2 when the city turned out to be broke, so state auditors Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) and Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) arrived to take a look. Ben revealed that Pawnee had virtually no funds left and the government would be shut down until further notice, and along with Chris, he set up a budget task force. At the beginning of season 3, Leslie decided to bring back the Pawnee Harvest Festival, a week-long festival canceled in the 1980s. The success or failure of the festival would determine the financial future of the Parks Department, and luckily, all of Leslie and company’s efforts paid off as the festival was a success.

Years later, in Parks & Recreation season 6, benefit both Pawnee and Eagleton.
