Path of Exile is dropping a brand new expansion pack soon, along with the chance to obtain some free loot, according to Grinding Gear Games. The new expansion will feature plenty of new experiences for s to take advantage of, as well as an incentive to watch their stream as the announcement is taking place.

Originally, this expansion that they are bringing up was delayed because the team at Grinding Gear didn't want to have any interference or conflict with Cyberpunk 2077. Honestly, that was a smart decision because Cyberpunk 2077 had one of the biggest video game releases this year, so now that the hype has died down a bit, now is the perfect time to let players see the new update.

Grinding Gear Games announced that the next major expansion for Path of Exile will be announced during a stream on Path of Exile's Twitch channel on January 7 at 11 a.m. PST, with the expansion titled 3.13.0. In this expansion, players will have the chance to not only gain new skills, but also have new items, face a new challenge league, and see new end-game content that will change the way the game is.

Plus, for any streamers that are streaming Path of Exile during the announcement stream, Grinding Gear will be enabling Twitch Drops, a way for players to get in-game loot for their characters. There’s also a chance for streamers who restream the broadcast, or for fans that are watching the game while the stream is going on, to earn something “special” from Grinding Gear Games, but nothing has been revealed thus far as to what that could be.

Their latest expansion that the developers let out in Path of Exile: Heist, another update that was supposed to release earlier but was pushed back for quarantine reasons. The expansion allows for dungeon crawling and more ways for s to customize their character, and while there hasn't been any confirmation of what will exactly be in this expansion, it will surely be just as immersive as the last one itself.

There have been some other interesting updates to the game as well, Path of Exile: Delirium which introduced a new "nightmarish" master for players to interact with. The game has been heavily influenced by Blizzard's Diablo and Magic: The Gathering, so the incorporation of some of the most popular mechanics from those games has made Path of Exile certainly an interesting addition to the magical genre. Whether this new update will bring in more of those familiar features or something completely new, players will have to turn in to the stream to see - and hopefully get some new loot from the Twitch Drops as well.
