The Suits renaissance is in full swing, and with beloved characters returning in NBC's Suits spinoff comes in the wake of the original legal drama's resurgence via Netflix four years after its finale. Once the series soared to the top of the streaming charts, it was only a matter of time before NBCUniversal jumped at the opportunity to continue profiting off the IP. Just like that, Suits: LA was born.

Suits was the most streamed TV show in the United States in 2023 after Netflix added it to its streaming catalog. Per Variety, Suits racked up 57.7 billion minutes of views in 2023.

Starring Stephen Amell, Suits: LA revolves around a Los Angeles law firm specializing in entertainment and criminal law. Since the show takes place in the Suits universe, the door is open for cameos from the original series' stars. And the spinoff is wasting no time in taking advantage of its setting. Gabriel Macht returns as Harvey Specter in Suits: LA season 1, episode 4, while Rick Hoffman is also set to reprise his role as Louis Litt in an episode. Consequently, Adams appearing in Suits: LA is entirely feasible. If he doesn't, though, it's not the end of the world.

Patrick J. Adams might not have time to reprise his role as Mike Ross in Suits: LA. However, him missing out is perfectly okay, thanks to the reason behind the actor's busy schedule. Adams is starring as Russell McIntosh in the main cast of The Madison, an Yellowstone spinoff. The highly anticipated series is set in the Yellowstone universe and follows a family from New York City forced to move to the Madison River valley of central Montana after a tragedy.

Adams' character, Russell, is a high-profile investment banker and Paige's husband, making him Stacy's son-in-law. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the spinoff. Despite the little-known The Madison, the show is more exciting than Adams returning to the Suits universe. Of course, the Yellowstone franchise's positive reputation precedes it, suggesting The Madison will be another worthwhile addition to the universe. However, Adams taking on a new role in another big franchise is more appealing because of his talent and potential. He played Mike for almost eight seasons — he should expand his horizons and move forward rather than backwards.
