First up, Ryder, the 10-year-old human leader of PAW Patrol is now voiced by Finn Lee-Epp. He replaces Will Brisbin from the first movie, and his only previous role was the Kevin Costner 2020 movie Let Him Go. Chase also has a new actor with Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), replacing Iain Armitage from the first movie. Liberty was the main newcomer in the first movie, and Marsai Martin (Black-ish) returns to the voice role.

In the sequel, the pups end up gifted with superpowers after a meteor crashed into Adventure City. Initially, their new powers are a dream come true, especially for Skye, the smallest member of the team. But things quickly go awry.

A new villain Victoria Vance is a meteor expert, and she also gains powers from it, turning into a supervillain. She then teams up with Humdinger, and they scheme to defeat the super-powered pups, who now call themselves The Mighty Pups. Kids who grew up watching PAW Patrol likely know this is an idea from the original series. In season 5, there was a TV movie released called Mighty Pups, which saw a meteor crash into Adventure Bay and give each of the pups superpowers.
