Set in the world of the DCEU, Peacemaker is a show filled with characters who pack big punches and carry a lot of firepower. However, even with all these world-saving antics, alien invasions, and superheroes, intelligence is not necessarily an asset of many of these characters.
There are certain characters that, despite the outrageous situations they find themselves in, are still able to maintain a level head and clear thinking. But there are also those who are violently ignorant, completely incompetent, and who operate without a clue that helps make Peacemaker such a wild ride.
Vigilante
It turns out that Peacemaker is not the only vigilante whose "crime-fighting" tactics are far from heroic. Vigilante is another wannabe hero who seems totally detached from the world around him which makes him even more dangerous.
Partially due to his own social awkwardness, Vigilante can often say strange and outrageous things that don't help him look very smart. But he also seems to have a child's perception of things, like thinking that changing his expression constantly will make it impossible for people to recognize him.
Peacemaker
When he was introduced in The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker made it obvious that he was a somewhat delusional person who was convinced he was a hero despite all the bloodshed he causes. He also beleies everything he reads online like many other modern ignorant people.
But his stupidity goes far beyond that as his poor decision-making puts the mission in jeopardy numerous times. From allowing a random stranger to read his case files to wrongfully assuming Eagly would understand his complex instructions, Peacemaker simply does not have a lot of intelligence to go along with those muscles.
Locke
When introduced, Locke initially seems like he is going to be a serious threat as he is implanted in the police department and shows that he has a cold-blooded approach to his job. However, while he is ruthless, he also doesn't really do anything productive.
He attempts to stop the investigation into Peacemaker but Detective Song quickly finds a way around his meddling. By the time he is killed by the butterflies, he has proven himself a fairly useless character.
Judomaster
Despite his diminutive size, Judomaster proves to be a fairly formidable foe for the heroes in the show. He is a very skilled fighter who is even able to take on Peacemaker and Vigilante at the same time. However, he doesn't get much opportunity to show his intelligence.
He is smart enough to locate his enemies various times, but he seems to be only driven by a desire to fight. There isn't a lot else motivating him and it can cause him to rush into some situations without being prepared.
Economos
Economos is the tech-savvy member of the team which comes in handy with a lot of their missions. He is able to fabricate information, track targets, and use surveillance techniques that help the team.
However, as a strategist outside of the technical side of things, he can be quite foolish. His decision to frame Peacemaker's won father for the crimes in order to cover up was a strangely foolish decision on his part that caused a lot of trouble for the team.
Auggie
Auggie is a bit of a strange character when it comes to intelligence. On the one hand, he is able to build incredible technology and weaponry that rivals the likes of Batman. From Peacemaker's helmets to the incredibly advanced secret lair to his own White Dragon super-suit, Auggie is a genius in some ways.
However, that aspect of him seems very out of place with the ignorant and moronic view of the world he adopts. Whenever he spews his racist views, he is just made to look like a clueless old man following hatred blindly.
Adebayo
Adebayo is very out of place on the team as she doesn't like this life of violence and deception. It makes her irable and likable, but it is also clear that she is often in over her head. She lacks the kind of quick thinking needed for the job and approaches everything with a panicked mind.
However, when she is able to slow down a little bit, she can be one of the more level-headed of the team. And as Amanda Waller's daughter, she shows that she has some of that deception to her as well, from lying to the team to manipulating Vigilante to kill Auggie.
Harcourt
Harcourt is likely the best all-around soldier on the team. She is a skilled killer and fighter, but she also proves to be much more strategic and intelligent than the others. She takes a very calculated approach to the missions, proving to be quite ruthless when necessary.
Harcourt often seems like the only adult in a room full of children, but the others soon turn to her as the one who should lead them into their final mission.
Detective Song
Detective Song is not one of the most significant characters in the show, but she frequently proves to be smarter than everyone else. She is brought in to investigate a death linked to Peacemaker and his mission, gradually piecing things together.
Song proves herself to be a very intelligent detective, quickly discerning the truth about what happened even as the others try to throw various lies and distractions in her way. She is ultimately killed before she can bring it to a close, but she was onto the truth from the beginning.
Murn
As the team leader, Murn is forced to deal with a lot of nonsense from his less than impressive team. However, he is a man with a plan as well as more than a few secrets he is hiding from the others.
Not only is he secretly a butterfly, but he is also the rogue member of his species who are attempting to stop them from taking over the world. Murn puts together the team and leads them into this world-saving adventure. And given the people he is forced to work with, it is quite impressive what he manages to accomplish. Though he dies before he can see it through, he made the victory possible.
