Social Links in Persona 3 Reload are one of the most important aspects of the game, and while the goal is to rank them up quickly, Social Links can occasionally break. This is typically the result of an error in judgment on the protagonist's part in which they've said or done something to upset that specific Social Link.
When a Social Link breaks in Persona 3 Reload, it is not truly broken. In Persona 3, a broken Social Link resulted in the inability to fuse Personas of that Arcana, but this mechanic was thankfully removed entirely in P3R. Instead, only a Reverse Social Link is possible, meaning you just lose progress with your Social Link until it is fixed.

10 Biggest Differences Between Persona 3 Reload And The Original
Persona 3 aims to be the definitive edition of the game for a new generation. Here are the biggest changes and new features that make that possible.
How To Fix A Reverse Social Link In Persona 3 Reload
How To Use Apologies, Prayer, & The Rewind Mechanic
First and foremost, the best way to fix a reverse Social Link is to avoid receiving one. This is fairly easy to do since the most common ways they occur are by selecting the wrong dialogue options or breaking promises to hang out. To avoid this, keep your word if you agree to hang out, and for the dialogue, Persona 3 Reload will warn you that your next dialogue is important. This statement typically means this next choice could result in a reversal if you don't consider it.
There is another way you could end up with a Social Link reversal: if you avoid a Social Link for 60+ days. However, since unlocking Social Links in P3R is one of the main goals, this should not be an issue. Keep in mind that this limit is much shorter for romantic Social Links, so max them out quickly to avoid jealousy.
Since Social Link Reversals related to dialogue only happen during the later ranks, you should have time to get to know each Social Link and pick the right choice based on what you know about them. If you end up with a reversal, there are two main ways to fix it. The first option is to patch things up like you broke them and hang out with the Social Link. However, it will likely require several apologies before things are made right, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen immediately.
The other option to fix Reversed Social Links is to pray. Praying at the Shrine about a Reversed Social Link can patch things up quickly, but it will cost you a full day. Therefore, it is up to you to decide which option is best, depending on your situation. Talking things over won't take up the whole day, but it will delay you in ranking that specific Social Link. So you must decide whether the delay or the loss of an entire day is more valuable.

All Persona 3 Reload Playable Characters, Ranked Worst To Best
Persona 3 Reload includes nine playable characters. Here are all the party players can recruit to SEES, ranked in order of strength.
The last option, which is not technically an in-game option, is to use the rewind mechanic. This feature allows you to revert to a previous point, almost like an autosave that doesn't use a save slot. This can be to rewind to an earlier time and try again rather than try to fix things through gameplay. However, this can mean repeating other things, so keep that in mind. Once things are fixed, regardless of the method, you can proceed to max your Social Links in Persona 3 Reload like usual.
