The expanded version of the beloved 2017 hit, Persona 5 has hit shelves worldwide. Persona 5 Royal brings with it the opportunity to max a persona's stats, something often considered time-consuming, repetitive, and nearly impossible in the original iteration of the game. In Persona 5 Royal, players take the role of Joker, the protagonist of the game, as he navigates his new Tokyo high school. He and his acquaintance's band together to enter the Metaverse and change the hearts of some of the worst villains.
With the release of Persona 5 Royal, Atlus has given players a quicker and more cost-effective way to max persona stats using the new Fusion Alarms function. This guide will explain the process, which can be repeated as many times as a player needs until they have created the ultimate persona.
Ranking Up Confidant Stats in Persona 5 Royal
To begin, players must have 20,000 yen, Ryuji's Sakamoto's Insta-Kill Skill (Rank 7), and Chihaya's Rank 8 Skill, Celestial Reading. These may take some time to reach, allowing the game to remain challenging while offering an avenue for players with patience to max out their persona stats.
Ryjui's Insta-Kill ability will allow a player to decimate weaker Shadows in Mementos just by sprinting at them. This results in XP and can be a great way for a player to earn the 20,000 yen they will need for a Celestial Reading from Chihaya. It also allows them to spend less time picking up personas they
Once Chihaya is leveled up and has the Celestial Reading rank, the player should go to see her and ask for a Celestial Reading. This reading costs 20,000 yen. What Chihaya tells the player is not as important. However, getting the Celestial Reading triggers a Fusion Alarm and increases the chance of Fusion Alarms for the rest of the day, and that function will allow players to max their persona's stats.
Choosing The Target and Offering Personas in Persona 5 Royal
Ideally, players have a persona in mind that they wish to max out. This is the target persona. The player should then find or select two offering personas with the stats they want the target persona to learn.
The offering personas can be picked up in Mementos. To do this effectively, the player should choose a level in Mementos with shadows just slightly weaker than they are, on which they can use the Insta-Kill function to move more quickly. They may also use Third Eye to find more offering personas that can be fused during a Fusion Alarm. The offering personas can also simply come from those a player already has in their stock.
As a less desirable method, the offering personas can also be purchased from the registry in the Velvet Room. Every action taken in the Velvet Room during a Fusion Alarm increases the chances of a fusion accident and of getting ejected from the room.
Fusing Offering Personas During a Fusion Alarm in Persona 5 Royal
After visiting Chihaya and triggering a Fusion Alarm, players should travel to the Velvet Room and fuse their offering personas together. It is best for a player to do this once they have Network fusion unlocked, as it will prevent the fusion from failing, though that is not mandatory.
Strengthening A Persona's Stats in Persona 5 Royal
Still in the Velvet Room, players can strengthen the persona they want to max out using the fusion they created in the previous step. Pitting the two against one another is likely to result in a failure, which sacrifices or "feeds" the fusion to the persona. It results in an XP boost and ten points into random stats, which can then be distributed.
These steps can be repeated multiple times, especially after multiple Mementos runs until the player's persona has reached maximum stats. Provided players are not ejected from the Velvet Room too early, even fusion accidents have the potential to increase stats without leveling the persona up.
Last Tips for Maxing a Persona's Stats in Persona 5 Royal
Once in the Velvet Room, after fusing two personas, a player may consider setting a secondary persona they want to max, as Incense stat gains are doubled during Fusion Alarm. Incense can be purchased from Jose's Shop or from the Mantra Ganda Incense Shop. In the Velvet Room, players should select Train Persona. They can then select the persona they wish to train and choose to burn incense. This method can begin the training process and leave a player with multiple personas at maximum stats. The Incense method can be used on its own as well to avoid needing to sacrifice personas, but it takes far more time and money to use.
This method can be used on personas even at level 99. Because the Fusion Alarm does not count toward the Daily Strengthen, this method also saves a bit of in-game money, making it the most efficient process for maxing out a persona's stats.
Persona 5 Royal is available on PlayStation 4.
