Persona 5 Royal: How To Unlock Every Confidant

In Persona 5 Royal, luckily, confidants are much easier to access as compared to the original Persona 5 game. This is primarily because it is not only easier to gain Confidant points, but there is more overall free time. This also means the ability to max out several confidants, but first, they have to be unlocked.

Though it is entirely up to the player to determine which confidants they choose to engage with more, there are certain ones worth prioritizing as their perks will be of the most overall benefit to the player. However, players should feel free to focus on whichever confidants they feel have the most value to them personally.

How To Unlock All Confidants

While some of the Confidants in Persona 5 Royal can be unlocked through standard story progression, many have various conditions that must be met in order to unlock them. Not only that, but many have different requirements to be able to continue ranking them up such as interacting in certain conditions or reaching certain ranks by a certain date.

One thing that is pretty common however is that many require certain social stat levels to be high enough to continue ranking up with them, so it's important that Joker re to focus on this and prioritizes which stats are more important to level up.

There are no wrong choices when it comes to prioritizing certain confidants over others, but as shown below, some benefits far outweigh others. It all comes down to what seems most valuable for the type of game each player wants to play, but note that maxing out every confidant is nearly impossible without perfectly managed time. However, in Persona 5 Royal's New Game+, since social stats carry over, it is possible to attempt maxing out every confidant at that point.

Chihaya Mifune	Fortune	Speak to Chihaya in Shibuya on days with clear weather.	Improve social stats, reveal confidant benefits, trigger velvet room alarm, earn more money in battle, raise a confidant's affinity, and highlight the best dialogue choices.
Twin Wardens	Strength	Speak to Twin Wardens in the velvet room. Complete persona fusion challenges in order to level.	Train Personas to add attribute resistances, group up Persona fusions, and fuse higher-level Personas.
Iwai Munehisa	Hanged Man	Speak to Iwai in the shop after obtaining the mystery bag. Level 4 Guts are needed for rank one. Level 5 Guts is needed for rank 8.	Custom gun mods that add new elements and more guns added to shop inventory.
Tae Takemi	Death	Speak to Takemi in the clinic at Yongen-Jaya. Level 2 Guts are needed for rank 2. Level 4 Charm needed for rank 8.	Accessories and healing items are available for purchase.

Hifumi Togo	Star	Speak to Hifumi in the Kanda church at night. Level 3 Charm needed for rank 1. Level 5 intelligence needed for rank 8.	Earn extra money when winning battles in a single turn, swap party mid-battle, escape when surrounded, and follow-up attacks are available for back-up party .
Yuuki Mishima	Moon	Speak to Mishima in Shunjuku. Clearing Mementos targets is necessary for this confidant.	Increase EXP gain and backup are able to gain EXP.
Toranosuke Yoshida	Sun	Work at the beef bowl restaurant after talking to Yoshida in the Shibuya station a couple of times. Speak with Yoshida again on Sunday night to increase rank.	Recruit Persona of a higher level and the chance to improve negotiation results.

Kasumi Yoshizawa	Faith	Speak with Kasumi. Will initiate most hangouts during story moments. Leveling will be capped until a certain point in story. Have to reach level 5 by December 18th.	HP increase, ability to ambush enemies from a distance, and ambush them even if they attack first.
