On the Nintendo Switch, action RPGs aren't too hard to come by, although wading through the sea of games to find the right one for each player's taste can be a bit of a challenge. These games, however, are sure to please fans of Persona 5 Strikers with similar approaches to gameplay and storytelling, all while keeping within the fast-moving genre of the action RPG.

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition

Darksiders II on the Nintendo Switch.

The Darksiders series is a go-to for fans of the hack-and-slash action RPG, and the re-release of its second entry on the Switch shares a lot of elements with Persona 5 Strikers. For one, the game follows a dark and sweeping storyline following Death himself as he tries to clear the name of fellow Horseman of the Apocalypse, War.

Exploring the world of Darksiders II reveals a wide variety of locations and ways to traverse them, but Strikers fans will be particularly at home with the game's approach to combat. Dungeons are filled with enemies for Death to cut through with his various weapons and skills, much like Strikers' own dungeons.

Transistor

Transistor on the Nintendo Switch.

An isometric action RPG from the developers of recent megahit HadesTransistor is a unique experience, complete with painterly sci-fi visuals and a sweeping soundtrack transporting players into the shoes of a singer named Red. In exploring a dystopian city, Red and her talking sword will face a number of cybernetic enemies.

Both Persona 5 Strikers and Transistor are aesthetically bold, but they share common gameplay elements, too. The Persona system in Strikers allows players to stop the battle and plan their tactics when using Persona skills, and Transistor's Turn() system works similarly, allowing players to program movements and attacks in the heat of battle.

As with Strikers, players get the upper hand on enemies in Tales Of Vesperia by surprising them before entering combat. The game's combat runs on the Linear Motion Battle System, placing players onto a fixed axis of motion, much like a fighting game, offering a new approach to action-based combat.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Dana

The game has players taking control of a massive cast of characters in epic battles against hordes of enemies.

Fans of Strikers will appreciate the anime style of Pirate Warriors, as well as the zany cast of characters, even if they are not familiar with the series. Those who are familiar with One Piece, though, will also be intrigued by a story that presents an alternate version of the as-yet-unfinished Wano Arc currently unfolding in the anime and manga.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Rex Running By Luminous Trees And Deerlike Creature

The Xeno series has roots way back in the 1998 game Xenogears, although many modern players will be most familiar with the Xenoblade Chronicles sub-series, which includes this 2017 Switch title. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is notable for its vast open world and action-packed combat system that will be familiar to Persona 5 Strikers players.
