It appears that some of the maps in Phasmophobia might be too haunted to be saved, as one player found out when the crucifix that is meant to save them from a ghost hunt attempted to flee. Phasmophobia launched back in September 2020 and took the world by storm after groups of friends realized how fun and quirky the title can be with a few of its infamous glitches. Since then, fans have kept finding silly things that make the game so engaging, including the ghost-hunting items seemingly taking on a life of their own.
In a recent Reddit post from ozarkthefloof, a short eight-second video showcases a crucifix sliding away from the home and almost completely out the door, almost as if it is attempting to run from the ghost itself. The crucifix in Phasmophobia is used to stop a ghost from hunting, which gives players time to escape the unruly hands of fate and check their sanity levels if need be. This time around, it seemed like even the item needed to ward off the angry spirits thought it was a good idea to leave.
A Ghost So Strong, Even The Crucifix Gave Up In Phasmophobia
"Nope... I'm out!"
The comments on the thread are nothing short of hilarious, as Aggressive-River-946 states, "“Alright it’s 5pm my job here is done, good luck Dan!”" in reference to the crucifix making a run for it. One commenter that goes by ShreddedDaphy mentions they shot a photo of the crucifix as it was moving, and it was counted as a ghost encounter, which would make sense if the ghost was the one tampering with the equipment as they do with the book.
The fact that not only does the crucifix move, but it appears to be heading for the door, makes this post all the more funny. Some ghosts are just too powerful in Phasmophobia, and maybe this time around the equipment decided this house could not be saved from the evil that lurked within. A comment from s1eepyyy_ says, "nah this too haunted for me good luck”, which agrees that maybe this ghost type is much too scary for even the crucifix to be of help.
Our Take: Phasmophobia Is Filled With Silly Things That Make The Title Great
From Shaking VooDoo Dolls To Hunts That Scare Fans, The Game Keeps Us Guessing
Phasmophobia is a title I could play with friends over and over again. The cursed objects make for an explosive playthrough when deciding to trap a friend within the house and use one right by the door to watch them get instantly hunted. Other fans can agree the game itself can be scary when playing alone as well, as Chizz-Dippler shows how easy it is to panic amid a ghost encounter. Another Reddit post takes an interesting look at what the Landlord of the home must think about walking into a body on the floor surrounded by ghost-hunting equipment after an unsuccessful run.

"Great Salt Photo": Phasmophobia Photo System Has Players Enraged After Capturing The Wrong Moments
A Phasmophobia player has shared their glitchy experience with the photograph system in the game, which has fans reflect on its hilarious bugginess.
Whichever way fans choose to play, solo or with a ghost-hunting squad, Phasmophobia has some quirks and glitches that make the title what it is. Even if some of them can be a bit terrifying, such as your crucifix making a daring escape, the hilarious threads of wild things happening never cease to amaze me.
