Aside from Jack, Barbossa is often regarded as the best character in the movies. He evolved from a ruthless villain to a beloved hero, and that's partly down to his participation in Jack's rescue. There were countless times when Jack’s inner coward got the better of him, however, his final showdown with the Kraken brought to light the courageous Captain that everyone knew and loved. Eventually, the Kraken dragged the Pearl back to the depths, and Jack along with it produced Jack’s saddest scene in the entire franchise.

After their bank robbery goes wrong, Jack’s crew abandons him. In a moment of sadness, Jack takes the Pearl from his pocket and sits it on the railing of his ship, imagining it sailing the seas once again. No pirate will ever live up to the iconic reputation set by Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow. He is played with the perfect amount of eccentricity combined with witty intelligence, and his first appearance in Curse of the Black Pearl will forever be ed.

As the camera pans to Jack, it's assumed he’s captaining a large ship. Cut to a few seconds later, he is onboard a dinghy that is currently sinking. Reddit gatheloc thinks it was "a perfect and frankly, hilarious, introduction to the absurdity of the character."

Curse of the Black Pearl is typically regarded as the best Pirates of the Caribbean film thanks to its authenticity and captivating storyline. In this movie, Barbossa is a heartless villain who shows no remorse for anything, doing and destroying whatever stands in his way of lifting his dreaded curse.

When Elizabeth discovers the pirate's skeletal bodies in the moonlight, she is horrified, having previously told Barbossa she no longer believes in ghosts. In this scene, Barbossa comes out with his best and most iconic quote from the franchise. Will And Elizabeth's Wedding

There are many brilliant Pirates of the Caribbean scenes set on the ocean, and arguably, Will and Elizabeth’s wedding comes out on top. The two had been on a complex journey across the three films, with no one knowing how it would end up. Everything culminates in the final battle and during a maelstrom, Will finally makes his choice and asks Elizabeth to marry him.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is often seen as the worst Pirates of the Caribbean movie, especially considering Jack Sparrow has visibly changed. Once a witty beloved captain, Jack became a severely intoxicated version of himself, arguably losing a part of his charm in the process.

In this movie, a flashback reveals Salazar's history with Jack. A young Jack uses his com and executes a bootleg turn, outsmarting Salazar and sending him straight into the devil’s triangle. Reddit Ghdude1 enjoys the scene because it’s "One of the few scenes where Jack acted like the Jack we saw in the previous movies."

Barbossa Says "No"

Pirates are never recognized as the smartest of people, however, Elizabeth’s first introduction with Barbossa shows he has his wits about him. Up until this point, very few people had got the better of the villainous captain, and his intelligence likely played a part.

Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones were two of the evilest villains in Pirates of the Caribbean. They shared many similarities, both heartless, ruthless, and cruel to those they deemed less worthy of themselves. Although they fought for different things, it displayed that evil can take shape in any form.

When Beckett possesses the heart of Davy Jones, he takes over the seas. Although Jones is supposed to be the most feared of all, Beckett informs him that this is no longer his world, forcing him under the East India Trading Company’s rule. Jack's Escape From The King

Jack was the master of elaborate escape plans. It seemed no matter what situation he found himself in, he would always find a way out, no matter how impossible it seemed. Although there is a significant time gap between At World's End and On Stranger Tides, Jack is quick to remind fans that he hasn’t changed one bit, conducting an elaborate escape to avoid arrest.

In a meeting with the King, Jack decides he's had enough of interrogation. While swinging from a chandelier, Jack manages to destroy and banquet and a window before escaping arrest once again. Reddit raiden_the_conquerer enjoys it because "it was just all round a fun ass scene to watch."
