Just recently Sony got to show off some of what their development teams have been cooking up with their State of Play demonstration, showing several new games and what is on the horizon. The PlayStation 5 is the newest generation of Sony's flagship gaming console but despite having been around for almost a year now, players are still struggling to get their hands on it.

And if they do, with a new console comes lots of adjustments and updates, such as the brand new haptic feel of the Dualsense controller. But with enough time under its belt, the PlayStation community has delivered some incredible memes that perfectly represent the many aspects of the system and what it's like to own one.

Popped Collar Look

The PS5's design sure came as a surprise to many gamers and they wasted no time at all with their photoshop skills. The winged plates and white coloring do have a certain look to them. And while the PS5 may need several quality of life changes, the design isn't something that can be fixed with a simple software update.

While it's unlikely that the developers over at Sony were trying to emanate this look, it's left gamers wondering just what their intention was with the design.

Additional Costs

The PS5 may be the latest and greatest in gaming consoles with a decent price point for gamers but that's only before the extra hardware. Whether it's a new hard drive with more storage space or a fan to keep the system from overheating, the add-ons can cost gamers more than a pretty penny.

For the newest and latest console, there are still a few shortcomings that gamers aren't too happy about, and filling those needs isn't cheap.

Dualsense vs. Dualshock 4

Something the PS5 improved upon greatly from the previous generation with its controller. The Dualsense and the creative uses of its haptic offer a new comfortable design as well as several new features that put the old one to shame.

While the Dualshock had a nice run through several generations, gamers appreciate the new controller that offers a lot of different feels and (no pun intended) senses that add to the immersion of the gaming experience.

"You Mean I Actually Got One?"

It's no secret that actually getting a PS5 has been a major struggle for eager gamers. With scalpers and low stock inventories, just finding a PS5 has been difficult ever since the console dropped.

If customers were actually able to get a hold of the console during an online restock they were pretty darn lucky, but that's not the end of the battle. There's still the problem of actually paying for it.

Grilled To Perfection

Not only does this meme poke fun at the design of the futuristic-looking pieces of hardware, but it also takes a jab at the console's reputation for overheating. Gamed for a little too long in a hot room but also need something for dinner? No problem, just pop the off and throw a couple of steaks down for nice metallic flavoring.

In all seriousness though, an overheated system is no fun and makes gamers do something they always hate. Put down the controller. More waiting and then it's back to blowing up zombies or starting another time-loop.

Not Enough Memory? This Should Do The Trick

While the PS5 does a lot of things well, it surely could've used a larger hard drive. And with the incredibly high prices of some internal PS5 hard drives to fill those storage space concerns, sometimes a PS4 drive is the economical choice that gets the job done. And it's a bonus if it already has some of the best PS4 games saved on it.

It may not look pretty or be as convenient as swapping out the internal drive, but this is an option many gamers are going with.

What Would You Do For A PS5?

If anyone noticed their significant other being extra friendly or willing to do some chores they've been putting off for a while and they are an active gamer, there's a pretty good chance it had something to do with the latest console.

The price point may be a bit steep but maybe some friendly acts of service can help soften the blow when telling a significant other how much was spent on games. There are no guarantees it works but it's worth a shot.

Game Updates

Every PS5 gamer has been there before. After ing that new game and waiting the excruciating time it takes to install, there is now an even larger day-one update file that takes even longer to .

For a console all about getting gamers to play quicker, there sure is a lot of waiting. But hey, at least it ed faster in rest mode. And once you finally get it working, the load times do completely outstrip the PS4.

World War PlayStation

The idea that mob mentality and zombie hoard behavior in an all-out war would be conducted over a gaming console may sound like the plot of a crazy horror video game you forgot about but that was just the case when the PS5 dropped. The demand was high and the supply was low.

Going on to a retailer's site moments before the restock was about to hit and spamming the refresh button over and over again until finally a PS5 finds its way into your cart felt nothing short of gearing up for battle. And in the end, only a lucky few found salvation in the blue glow of a new PlayStation.

Fiscal Responsibility? Don't Know Her

Around the time the PS5 console dropped, many Americans were just getting their hands on some sweet governmental aid due to the covid crisis. Some chose to use those funds responsibly while others did not so much.

Given that the PS5 is just an entertainment system and not some magical relic that grants wishes, it didn't seem to solve anyone's financial hardships when it came out. But at least the new box is cool.
