Summary

  • Exciting State of Play announcement made with updates on 14 PS5 and PS VR2 titles confirmed for showcase.
  • XboxEra Co-Founder Nick "Shpeshal Nick" Baker leaks lineup including titles like AstroBot and Monster Hunter Wilds.
  • Past leaks from Baker have been legitimate, suggesting lineup for State of Play could be accurate.

After a month of rumors, official announcement for the broadcast was made on May 29, a mere day before the event. It confirmed updates on 14 PS5 and PS VR2 titles and a look at several PlayStation Studios titles arriving later this year.

While there has been plenty of speculation for the past month, Co-Founder of XboxEra, Nick "Shpeshal Nick" Baker, has potentially leaked the first titles for the showcase on X.

Baker is known to leak showcase line-ups in the past, usually with pre-recorded shows once they have been loaded to YouTube, which suggests that these titles could be legitimate.

Further Leaks Have Built Upon This List

Potentially Revealing The Other 7 Titles

Further adding to the legitimacy of Baker's leak, posts from other reliable leakers, LeakProximidad and billbil_kun, who have had extremely accurate track records in the past, have teased several more titles combined with some of the ones also shown on Shpeshal_Nick's X post.

These include:

  • Marvel Rivals console port announcement
  • New Five Nights at Freddy’s
  • New Dynasty Warrior
  • Path of Exile 2
  • Silent Hill 2 Remake
  • Phantom Blade Zero
  • ‘A new game from the Middle East’

If these are accurate, that would cover all 14 of the titles Sony teased in its announcement and would match many predictions surrounding Silent Hill 2's appearance and a trailer for God of War Ragnarök on PC. On May 29, billbil_kun also teased a second trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds that would arrive within the next 10 days, stating that it would probably be at the State of Play - matching Shpeshal_Nick's post - but "could be a little later," which would fall into the Summer Game Fest event. It is possible that there could be a shorter trailer in the State of Play, given its 30-minute runtime, followed by a longer gameplay reveal of some kind in the Summer Game Fest showcases.

Fortunately, PlayStation fans don't have to wait much longer to find out how accurate these leaks are, as the State of Play is mere hours away. The event begins May 30 at 6 pm ET, and the official PlayStation YouTube channel already has the Premiere page available, with the option to be notified when it's about to begin.
