Sony has confirmed that heavy hitters such as The Witcher 3's addition to PS Now hardly comes as a surprise, given a recent leak that showed its GOTY edition featured on the PS Now homepage.
A trio of Sonic adventures were previously confirmed for the streaming service's next batch of games, as well. PS Plus freebies for June 2021. The company kept a couple of surprise announcements hidden, though.
Starting tomorrow, June 1, PlayStation Now subscribers can gain access to seven more titles. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's GOTY Edition arguably counts as the most notable; according to a Deck-building roguelike Slay the Spire serves as another addition, scheduled to leave the platform on December 6. Finally, Car Mechanic Simulator rounds out the June 2021 list of new arrivals.
As is usually the case, PS Now's newest arrivals offer something for pretty much everyone. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt provides players with a seminal role-playing experience, wherein story and character reign supreme. Meanwhile, the three Sonic the Hedgehog titles offer a mix of kart racing and platforming fun. Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown is an enhanced version of the classic fighting game. And Slay the Spire and Car Mechanic Simulator couldn't be more different from their PS Now counterparts. One flips the roguelike genre on its head: the other challenges players to tune, repair, and paint cars in an effort to build a repair service empire.
PS Now has been in PlayStation's online services family for several years. However, many would argue PlayStation Now didn't start picking up steam until Sony dropped the subscription model's prices in 2019. Such a move continues to work in platform's favor, given that 3.2 million were attached to the service as of March 2021.
