Fans of PlayStation’s heroes Ellie and Nate need something to fuel them through their adventures just like the rest of humanity.

From the small, pixelated images of 1980s Pac-Man eating his way to victory to the more modern and eclectic games such as Overcooked, food has always played an integral part to many gaming experiences. However, while these foods can often look delicious, they are only an image on a screen. Many fans have often recreated their own versions of in-game meals, but there has seldom been the chance to purchase a gourmet meal inspired by a video game series, let alone have it delivered to the door. That is, until now.

PlayStation has now teamed up with Deliveroo Australia to serve up tasty meals taken straight from The Last of Us Part 2, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Sharing the mouth-watering trailer on its Twitter handle, PlayStation Australia revealed the PlayStation To Plate scheme. Fans can now order Ellie’s steak sandwich from The Last of Us Part 2, a truly eye-catching trifle inspired by Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s Sirangian Honey Mousse, and a bountiful bowl of Thief’s Pasta as eaten by Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4. Each dish is being prepared by renowned Australian restaurateurs, but fans need to act fast if they want to sample these offerings as the PlayStation to Plate initiative is only available until December 13.

While the PlayStation To Plate idea is certainly a fun one, it holds a much deeper symbolism for Patrick Lagana, Director of Marketing for PlayStation Australia. Lagana revealed (via The Last of Us' Ellie Steak Sandwich. Graham says, “Food, much like gaming, has this incredible ability to offer people a chance to escape the mundane and connect with family, friends, and even complete strangers.

It is not clear if Sony will be extending the PlayStation to Plate idea further afield. Currently, this collaboration is solely available in Australia, where it is also offering diners the chance to win one of five Golden Tickets. The lucky winners of PlayStation’s Golden Tickets will instead be gifted a PS5, and given the ongoing scarcity of the console, this is an opportunity many fans won't want to miss, especially if they don't want to rely on rumors like a recently reported PS5 restock at Target.

Unfortunately, for now at least, the majority of PlayStation fans will have to make do with watching this trailer for the food, instead of eating it. Of course, there is always the option to replay some Uncharted and The Last of Us Part 2, so at least Nate and Ellie can enjoy their meals, even if not all of their players can.
