restored connection to the Green forced her body through changes that even Ivy is still working out. There are certain powers she's certain of that mark her as the Poison Ivy fans love, but with the promise of creative new additions.

In a stunning preview of Poison Ivy #30, by writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Marcio Takara, Pamela is struggling to recover from Bella Garden's acid attack and takes stock of herself to figure out what she's actually capable of. She notes that her known powers include:

  • The ability to secrete plant-based poisons and immunity to same.
  • The ability to secrete pheromones that can influence the behavior of others.
  • The ability to control plant growth, ignoring usual speed and size limitations.
  • A powerful healing factor.

After reconnecting with the Green, Pam sacrificed herself fighting Jason Woodrue and was subsequently resurrected, leaving Poison Ivy with her new abilities. However, she also notes that the Green likely gave her further abilities she has yet to discover. After an amount of time as a human villain working with gadgetry and plant science, Poison Ivy is back to being a true superhuman.

Poison Ivy's Classic Abilities Return With the Promise of More to Come

Poison Ivy #30 by writer G. Willow Wilson, artist Marcio Takara, colorist Arif Prianto, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou

A vibrantly colored comic image of Poison Ivy that suggests who powers are evolving, she remains gorgeous

At the beginning of her current series, losing her link to the supernatural realm known as the Green sent Pam into a spiral, and she spent a considerable amount of time only able to partially control Lamia spores, which eventually turned into a full-on fungal zombie plague. In doing so, she blurred the lines between the Green and the Gray, two of the primordial forces that shape the DC Universe, and struggled to understand her changed powerset. When Poison Ivy's connection to the Green was eventually restored, death and resurrection only created further complications. Now, she's finally started to take stock of what she knows she's still capable of.

Luckily, all of her classic abilities appear intact after resurrection. Everything that put her on the map in the first place is back in her control, and she knows it. Nevertheless, her recent well-meaning attempt to focus on the people who matter and take on the Green Knight organization mean she hasn't put her new body through enough tests to have a full picture of what other abilities she has at her fingertips.

Poison Ivy's Power Will Continue to Grow

Could Swamp Thing Point to Ivy's Potential?

High fashion version of Poison Ivy, raising her hands as if about to use her powers.

Although Pam has a clear understanding of some things she's capable of, and they're all familiar abilities, her tie to the Green is now stronger than ever. She's been tested in unimaginable ways and emerged alive on the other side, and the trials she's faced make it nearly impossible for her to be the same person as before. Her healing abilities, pheromones, and plant control are present and ed for, but she's poised to tap into something even she doesn't grasp.

In the past, the official avatar of the Green has been able to grow multiple bodies, unleash superstrength, cast illusions and grow to a gigantic size. Hopefully, some of those powers will soon be Ivy's. Poison Ivy has her full range of classic abilities, but she's just at the beginning of her latest journey.

Poison Ivy #30 will be available February 5 from DC Comics.
