Batman's Joker War is coming for Poison Ivy, and it looks as though she'll have a pretty big decision to make when Batman: Joker Warzone #1 releases later this month. Whose side will Ivy be on? Will she Joker and his clowns or Batman and his family of heroes? Perhaps she'll be her own side and that of her plants, as has been typical for her character over the years.
Pamela Isley is one of the most powerful foes in he brought her back to life by growing her back from the Green after charging one of Ivy's roses with the Speed Force.
Since her resurrection, Ivy had been a recurring character in Batman: Joker Warzone #1.
If the preview images are any indication, it looks as though Ivy will be returning to Gotham to find a group of Joker's thugs hiding out in one of her gardens in the first page. It also looks as though they were setting fire to her garden, as the second page features the aftermath of Ivy sitting alone with her surroundings all burned away. Ivy herself is seen holding a human skull, seemingly indicating that something dark and grisly happened, and the group of clowns didn't make it out before the garden went up in flames.
It will be interesting to see Ivy's specific role in the garden's destruction and the fate of the clowns she comes across when the issue releases later this month. Did she grow angry and kill the clowns, but failed to save the garden? Will the loss of the garden convince Ivy to find Harley and Batman's forces? Time will tell but it's no question that Poison Ivy would become a huge player and variable in the Joker War is she does indeed the fight.
