Poison Ivy Ditches Her Sexy Bustier One-Piece For a High-Necked Body Suit
Cover B Mike Perkins Card Stock Variant for Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees #1
Poison Ivy has undergone various costume changes throughout her 58 years in comics, especially recently. However, the outfit most often associated with the Gotham Siren is her iconic leafy bustier one-piece, usually adorned with a flourish of plant life, thigh-high leafy boots, and matching bicep-high gloves. Fans can see this classic costume featured on the covers of Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees #1, notably Clayton Crain’s variant cover and Jason Shawn Alexander’s main cover. Both covers reflect modern art standards in their unique styles while still capturing the essence of the classic look.
However, Mike Perkins’ variant cover features Ivy in a costume that sharply deviates from her usual attire. As Perkins is the main artist on the series, it’s likely that this new costume will be highlighted in the one-shot’s narrative. Perkins depicts Ivy in a green, high-collar, sleeveless bodysuit adorned with leafy patterns. Notably, the bodysuit appears translucent around the legs, giving the upper portion a bustier look. Additionally, the suit features organic, spiked protrusions, adding a wild and deadly edge. Despite the new design, Ivy retains her signature bicep-high gloves.

Poison Ivy’s Edgier Costume Is Perfect For Her Horror-Bound Team-Up With Swamp Thing
Cover C Clayton Crain Card Stock Variant for Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees #1
Swamp Thing titles typically fall under the horror category of comics, making it exceptionally fitting that Ivy is sporting a darker, edgier costume for her team-up with the Avatar of the Green. Although the costume is skin-tight, it leans more towards practicality than sex appeal, incorporating horror-esque elements such as the spiked protrusions. The suit also exudes a more sentient vibe, with vines that appear alive and in constant flux, wrapping around Ivy rather than her usual static bustier. This outfit perfectly captures the horror and creepy undertones promised in the Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing tale.
Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees #1 will be released on October 30, 2024, from DC Comics!
