Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie all make a return in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, these legendary Pokémon were used to protect three different lakes around the Sinnoh region. Each one is responsible for a different human emotion, making them incredibly powerful additions to any player's team. Since the Hisui region is so closely connected with the Sinnoh region, it is possible to find and capture the entire lake trio in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Capturing the lake trio will work towards completing the game's Pokédex, and doing this will reward trainers with the Shiny Charm item. It's an automatic Key Item that increases the odds of Shiny Pokémon making an appearance. Like many of the other legendary Pokémon in the game, the chance to capture the entire lake trio will only appear after the player has completed the main story. The region of Hisui vastly opens up with new content once the main campaign is over.
To find Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie, go to Cogita in the Ancient Retreat and speak with her. She has a long list of tasks all connecting to a wide-variety legendary Pokémon. Select 'The Plate of the Lakes" research task and the player will need to protect the lake Pokémon. They're found in different areas in the Hisui region and have fairly challenging Alpha Pokémon surrounding them.
Catching Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
These are all the locations to find Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
- Mesprit: Located in Obsidian Fieldlands and to the west of Lake Verity. There will be an Alpha Goodra that players will need to defeat. Use an Ice, Dragon, or Fairy-type Pokémon to make quick work of it or aim to capture it. Afterward, Mesprit will appear and give the trainer a piece of the Red Chain.
- Azelf: Located in Crimson Mirelands and to the north of Lake Valor. There will be an Alpha Quilfish that the player will need to capture or defeat. Once it's cleared out, Azelf will appear and reward the player with another piece of the Red Chain only after the player refuses to give in.
- Uxie: Located in Alabaster Icelands and to the north of Lake Acuity. There will be an Alpha Zoroark that the player will need to capture or defeat. Uxie will appear and say a riddle. The answer is '60131' and Uxie will give the last piece of the Red Chain.
On the bright side, trainers are able to go through these three Pokémon in any order. After collecting all three pieces of the Red Chain, trainers can return back to the lakes to capture them. Make sure to prepare by crafting more Pokéballs to collect them all. Finding them all is required to get the game's final prize, an encounter with Arceus. From the very beginning, capturing every Pokémon has been its goal.
