Delibird is appearing in Raid Battles for a limited time in Pokémon Go, and Niantic is currently hosting its annual Pokémon Go holiday event. During which, Ice-type Pokémon will spawn much more frequently. Not only that but it's possible to capture holiday-themed Pokémon. Trainers may come across a Santa Hat-wearing Pikachu or a Christmas Ribbon Cubchoo while exploring their surroundings. Since Delibird is an Ice/Flying-type Pokémon, it's one of the handfuls of Pokémon to appear in Raid Battles during this event.
The Pokémon Go holiday event will conclude on December 31st. Before this happens, trainers will be able to find and capture a Holiday Delibird through Raid Battles. It will appear exclusively in three-star Raid Battles and has its own special holiday ribbon. It also has the chance to appear Shiny if trainers are lucky. Its Shiny design replaces its red feathers with purple ones. While it's incredibly rare to find a Shiny, Raid Battles do make the odds a bit easier.
Since Delibird is a Flying/Ice-type Pokémon, that means it's weak to Steel, Fire, and Electric-type attacks. Not only that, but Rock-type attacks will do x4 the damage. Since this is a three-star raid battle, it's possible for trainers to clear this out alone if they are strong enough. Although, participating with at least one other player will make the battle much easier. It's important to mention that trainers will need a raid to participate. Fortunately, there are a few different ways to get free Remote Raid es.
The Best Delibird Counters in Pokémon Go (December 2021)
These are the best Pokémon to counter Delibird in Pokémon Go.
- Mega Aerodactyl: Rock Throw and Rock Slide.
- Rampardos: Smack Down and Rock Slide.
- Terrakion: Smack Down and Rock Slide.
- Rhyperior: Smack Down and Rock Wrecker.
- Tyranitar: Smack Down and Stone Edge.
- Gigalith: Smack Down and Rock Slide.
Since Mega Aerodactyl requires Mega Energy in order to evolve, trainers can also use Landorus with Rock Throw and Rock Slide as an alternative option. Although, bringing any Pokémon with Rock-type moves should help players clear out this battle. The Pokémon Go New Years' event will alternate which Pokémon will appear in Raid Battles. This means trainers looking to find a Shiny Holiday Delibird will need to do it fast. It's likely Delibird will return to Raid Battles in the future but trainers looking to find its holiday variant will likely need to wait until next year, although it is possible to trade with a friend who has an extra.
Pokémon Go is available now on iOS and Android.
