Bergmite and Avalugg will soon be making their Pokémon Go debut. Currently, Pokémon Go is hosting its own holiday event. If players explore the world around them, they may be lucky to find holiday versions of their favorite Pokémon. These versions include Pikachu wearing a Santa hat, Spheal with a green scarf, and Cubchoo with a holiday ribbon. Overall, the holiday event has a heavy emphasis on Ice-type Pokémon. To further push this, Bergmite and Avalugg will be added to the game during the event's second half.

The Pokémon Go holiday event part 2 will occur from Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to Friday, December 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During this time, trainers will be able to obtain a free Egg for their first swipe at a PokéStop for the day. Not only that, but the Field Research rewards and wild encounters will also change to a new set of Pokémon. It will also give players the chance to complete a new holiday-themed Timed Research Task once it becomes available. Bergmite will only be available once part 2 of the holiday event begins.

Fortunately, Bergmite will remain in the game even after the Pokémon Go holiday event is over. But, trainers should take advantage of the game's boosted Ice-type Pokémon spawn rates. There will be only two ways to get Bergmite. The first is by encountering it in the wild. The second is through hatching eggs. Regardless, finding Bergmite will take trainers a bit of effort.

Finding Bergmite in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO Holidays Part 1 Field Research Tasks (& Rewards)

To increase the chances of encountering Bergmite in the wild, trainers should use both the Incense or Lure Modules. Using an Incense will increase the spawn rate of all Pokémon for only the player for a limited time. For the Lure Modules these can be applied to a PokéStop to help other players in a specific radius. Regardless, both help increase the spawn rate of Bergmite. However, it will take a bit of patience for it to appear.

Bergmite also can appear when the player hatches a 7km egg. To hatch these faster, trainers should use their Super Incubators. This item will decrease the distance needed to hatch eggs. It's important to mention that this only works for eggs collected after the active event. Pokémon Go changes which Pokémon appear from eggs pretty often. The trainer will need to clear out whatever eggs they have to make space for potential Bergmite eggs. Ice-type spawn rates will return to normal once the holiday event is over, making it more challenging to find Bergmite. Capture this Ice-type before it's too late. Fortunately, trainers will only need 50 Bergmite candy to evolve it into Avalugg.
