The first batch of Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y were introduced into the game several months ago at this point. Since then, the game has tied new Kalos Pokemon to special seasonal events or bonuses. For the month of May, the next big Kalos drop is coming to the game, bringing along the legendary Pokemon and a bunch of favorite Pokemon from the region. Beginning on May 4th, players will be able to participate in the Luminous Legends X event. This event will introduce Xerneas to 5-star raid battles and put Spritzee and Swirlix in the wild. If players are able to come together and capture 500 million Fairy-type Pokemon around this time period, they will be rewarded with the early release of Pancham and Shiny Galarian Ponyta. Although, Goomy will also be a part of this event but is said to be one of the most difficult Pokemon to encounter. This guide will show players how they can find and capture Goomy in Pokemon Go.
How To Find (& Catch) Goomy in Pokemon Go
Goomy will be available in Pokemon Go beginning on May 4th at 10 am local time. During this time period, Fairy and Dragon-type Pokemon will appear more in the wild. The game states that if players are extremely lucky, they can find Goomy exploring the wild. There is currently no word if this Pokemon will begin to appear in eggs or in raid battles. To increase your chances of finding one, there are two different methods.
- Lure Module: Place this at a PokeStop to increase the spawn rate of all Pokemon. Since the event is focused on Dragon and Fairy-type Pokemon, these will likely appear more. With a bit of patience, Goomy should make an appearance.
- Incense: This item usually changes colors when a new event is happening and focuses on the event-centered Pokemon. This is a great way to increase your chances of encountering Goomy.
Goomy is a fan favorite from the Kalos region and will likely be a powerful addition to all player's teams. The only issue is finding it. It's extremely rare but not impossible so good luck trainers!
