Marshadow is the newest mythical Pokémon to be released in Pokémon GO. It debuts during the month-long lead-up to the Pokémon GO Fest with a Special Research task. To access the Marshadow encounter, however, you must attend an in-person event or purchase the GO Fest Global Ticket for approximately USD 14.99 in the in-game shop. Historically, these mythical Pokémon allow only one encounter per person, with them being guaranteed not to run away from you.

Marshadow is a mythical Pokémon from the Pokémon Sun and Moon games. It follows the theme of the Alola region with Pokémon like Necrozma, which can be found as a Raid Boss in Pokémon GO. It is the only Ghost- and Fighting-type Pokémon in the game, meaning its type weaknesses and advantages are exclusive to it. Using it against bulky normal-type Pokémon is very useful because of its large resistance to normal-type moves and powerful fighting-type super-effective moves.

How To Complete Marshadow's Special Research Task

Marshadow's Special Research Task in Pokémon GO is called GO Fest 2024: Sendai Park Escapade Special Research. Once you have gained access to it, you are guaranteed to catch Marshadow by the third step. However, if you choose to go to an in-person event and receive the Global Ticket, you will get Marshadow only, along with the other research tasks containing just Marshadow candy.

A generic prepared list of these tasks includes:

• Catch 10 Pokémon.
• Use an Incense in Pokémon GO.
• Make 10 Nice Throws.
• Hatch an Egg.
• Make 3 Great Throws.
• Make a new friend.
• Trade Pokémon 3 times.
• Send three gifts to friends.

There are also more specific quests that relate to Pokémon GO Fest 2024 and that revolve around the changing habitats throughout the day:

• Take a snapshot in the Mountain Brook, Sky Arena, Star Parade, and Lake Garden habitats
• Spin 5 Pokéstops in the Mountain Brook, Sky Arena, Star Parade, and Lake Garden habitats.

This Special Research Task will never expire. However, it would be best if you completed it during GO Fest 2024 because of the specific habitat task requests.

Unfortunately, in Pokémon GO, Marshadow fans will have to wait for its shiny variant. It has not been released for the game at this time in July 2024, but that doesn't mean it might not be in the future.
