Summer 2022 Pokémon GO Community Day has left some players disappointed. Held once per month for only a few hours, Community Day highlights a featured Pokémon who will appear more frequently in the wild during that time. Due to the increased frequency of one specific Pokémon, Community Day is the perfect time for players to snag a Shiny of the featured character.

Pokémon Go is an augmented reality mobile game, which lets players hunt for Pokémon in the world around them. Upon release in 2016, Pokémon GO experienced instant success worldwide. In its first week, Pokémon Go broke Candy Crush's previous record for the most active s for a mobile game in the United States, hitting an astonishing 21 million active s. On release day in Japan, Pokémon GO was ed over 10 million times. By the end of its first month, Pokémon GO had been ed over 100 million times worldwide.

Pokémon GO's July 2022 Community Day will feature Starly, an extremely common Normal/Flying Pokémon which resembles a bird. Not only is Starly incredibly common already, but they also tend to flock together in great numbers, making encountering several Starly in one place a frequent occurrence. Pokémon GO players will likely encounter the Generation 4 Pokémon from Sinnoh each time they play, and there are so many other, much harder-to-find Pokémon who would benefit from a spawn-rate boost. However, for players hoping to find a Shiny Starly, this could be their chance to get their hands on one.

Pokémon GO: July's Community Day Pokémon Is Too Common

Pokemon GO July 2022 Community Day Starly Evolve

During the July 2022 Community Day, Pokémon GO will feature bonuses in addition to increased spawns for Starly. Pokémon GO's July Community Day bonuses include 3x Catch XP, 3-hour Incense, 3-hour Lures, and 2x Catch Candy. Players who catch Starly during the event will have a chance to receive Starly XL Candy. If Pokémon GO players evolve Starly to its second evolution during the event, the newly-evolved Staraptor Pokémon that's produced will know the Fast Attack Gust. Finally, July's Community Day offers one extra special trade during the event and another two hours after the event ends; these two trades will require 50% less Stardust.

Although Pokémon GO's July Community Day features the common and unexciting Pokémon Starly, players can benefit from the event's other bonuses like 3x Catch XP for any catches made during the period. Additionally, the event will be the best opportunity for Pokémon GO players to get their hands on a Shiny Starly, or to evolve a Starly they already own into a Staraptor to benefit from a free Featured Attack, the Fast Attack Gust. Hopefully, Pokémon GO's August Community Day featured Pokémon will be a more exciting, more elusive pick than the plentiful Starly.
