Mysterious new eggs are coming to Pokémon GO later this month, but a poorly planned teaser leaked what the eggs are giving players a big hint as to what Team Rocket has in store for players. Pokémon GO attempted to correct its mistake, but savvy Twitter s were able to capture and document the leak before it was taken down.
Eggs are one of the many ways players can obtain Pokémon in Pokémon GO, and each egg's rarity requires players to walk a certain distance before they will hatch. While eggs have been around since Pokémon GO's launch in 2015, Team Rocket is one of the game's latest and most game-changing additions. of the dastardly Team Rocket organization can be found at Pokéstops and in hot air balloons waiting for trainers to challenge them in a battle. Every so often, the strongest of Team Rocket will come out of hiding to challenge players to some pretty difficult battles.
There have been various Team Rocket events in the past, and Pokémon GO announced that another one is coming sometime in the near future. The official Pokémon GO Twitter posted a video of four Pokémon eggs with red dots shrouded in a purple haze, and the caption told viewers to stay tuned as more details about the eggs would be revealed later. However, Twitter s who ed the video were able to tell what the eggs were as the video file was titled "PGO_SeptemberRocketEggsTeaser..." and the initial tweet was removed followed by a repost of the same video with a different file name. The Team Rocket Eggs are now live in the game, so it's only a matter of time before players figure out what surprises they contain.
Sadly, Pokémon GO's effort to conceal the eggs' identities was in vain as Twitter s were able to take screenshots of the video's original filename before it was taken down. PGO obviously stands for Pokémon GO, and RocketEggsTeaser speaks for itself. For avid Pokémon GO players, it doesn't take a leak to tell that these are Team Rocket eggs. The purple haze is identical to the one surrounding shadow Pokémon in Pokémon GO, and the red spots match the iconic red "R" on the Team Rocket uniform.
While players know beyond a shadow of a doubt that these eggs are Team Rocket eggs, there is still a lot that remains unknown. What Pokémon do these eggs contain? How do players get these eggs? How many miles do players have to walk to hatch them? All of these questions will be answered in due time, but if the eggs are anything like previous Pokémon GO Team Rocket events, players should expect nothing more than a lot of Ekans and Ratatas.
