Pokémon GO is hosting another Ultra Unlock event, with more Shiny and Legendary Pokémon for players to catch. Recently, the mythical Hoopa appeared at Pokémon GO Fest 2021 on July 17-18, unleashing mischief and a handful of legendary Pokémon into the world. As is tradition with the fests, an Ultra Unlock bonus event has followed, continuing the streak of uncommon and rarely before seen Pokémon being released for players to catch. As the Ultra Unlock continues, what Legendaries and Shinies can players expect to encounter during the Time and Space themed research missions and raids?

There are no prerequisites needed to participate in the Ultra Unlock event, save for having the Pokémon GO app ed to a device. There are a total of three weeks for the event, the first being themed Time, the second Space, and the third presently unannounced. During this time trainers can participate in timed research missions and earn supplies as a reward, then go on to use said earnings in various raids where special Pokémon will be available for capture.

In the Time week, which will run from July 23rd to August 3rd, players will have a five page timed research mission to complete for a chance to stumble upon event-themed Pokémon. In one-star raids, a Shiny Unown U can be found. For three-star Time raids and random encounters, the formerly fossilized Shieldon and Cranidos can potentially be found in their Shiny forms. There is one Legendary for this particular week of the Ultra Unlock event, and it is one of the of the Creation Trio: Dialga, the representation of time. During five-star raids, trainers have the chance to not only encounter a regular Dialga but also a Shiny version for the first time in Pokémon GO

Dialga-Palkia-Giratina

The second week of Ultra Unlock has been confirmed by the Pokémon GO team to be Space-themed, and is set to run from August 6 to August 17. Similarly to the previous week, a Shiny Unown U will be available for capture during one-star raids. Increasing in frequency in the wild, and with the possibility of encounter during a three-star raid, are both a Shiny Kangaskhan and a Shiny Heracross. In keeping with the Creation Trio from the Sinnoh region, the possible Legendary brush during five-star raids is Palkia, the representation of space. A Shiny version of Palkia is also a possible find.

While no information has been confirmed for week three of the Ultra Unlock event, it is fair to speculate that the final member of the Pokémon Creation Trio, Giratina, and its Shiny form could be a potential five-star raid confrontation. Even if trainers are not participating in Pokémon GO raids, there are still an increased number of region and theme-specific Pokémon that will occur more frequently in the wild and via egg hatches.
