Pokémon Home release date isn't coming May 23/24.

In an odd turn of events, Pokémon revealed that it would not be releasing the Pokémon HOME compatibility update for Scarlet and Violet on May 23/24 as it first announced. The reason for this is still unknown. However, the HOME compatibility was through Scarlet and Violet's 3.0.0 update, so it may be related to issues with the Gen 9 games.

The official tweet walking back Pokémon's previous statements can be found below:

Recent leaks that suggested Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have now been confirmed. Players who utilize the cloud-sharing app have been eagerly awaiting the inclusion of Scarlet and Violet and its new Pokémon, since its launch in November 2022.

As confirmed in a Tweet shared by Pokémon, the ability to link the HOME app with Scarlet and Violet will be available from May 23, 2023. This new update called Version 3.0.0 contains additional new features and Pokémon for players to use.

This good news means that after the update releases, Pokémon players waiting for Scarlet and Violet's DLC can keep themselves occupied by introducing some of the previous Generations currently missing Pokémon to the Paldea region. It will also give meticulous players the chance to bring their live PokéDex up-to-date and track all the information they require.

When the compatibility between Pokémon HOME and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet goes live, players who transfer their new Gen 9 Pokémon to the app will also receive a special, free Pokémon: Quaxley, Sprigatito, or Fuecoco. These Paldea region starters will come with their own special Hidden Abilities, but players will have to check in the mobile version of the Pokémon HOME app to reveal what these are, as they will be given to them there as Mystery Gifts.

What Else Is Included in Pokémon HOME's 3.00 Update

As well as the special version of Scarlet and Violet's starter Pokémon, the update includes several additional features. As always, players using Pokémon HOME's functionality will now be able to introduce older-Gen Pokémon missing in the Paldea region to the game. However, they won't be able to indiscriminately bring all of them across, although at the moment the only information provided is that "select Pokémon" will now be accessible in Scarlet and Violet. If players choose to move Tera-Types from other Pokémon games into Scarlet and Violet, their typing there will be determined by their original Type or Types.

The Pokémon HOME update will also include the ability to change a Pokémon's summary page, so players can see what other games it's been in, and on mobile, these pages can now include all the stats and information from the Pokémon Bank, provided it was transferred from it originally. This is a great, time-saving feature for Pokémon players, meaning there's less navigation required to get all the information needed.

There have also been updates to how the app's features can be used overall. The points given in Pokémon HOME can also now be changed into League Points, given based on the number of Pokémon in boxes. These points are then transferrable and can be used in Scarlet and Violet. Likewise, if transferring a Pokémon out of Pokémon HOME into a linked game, players are now able to change the moves before doing so from a more extensive list of all its known moves up to that point.

Finally, Pokémon HOME s will now be able to take their Roaming Form Gimmighouls from Pokémon GO and put them into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, via Pokémon HOME.
