The digital artist Becca_3D, who creates detailed 3D models, has debuted her latest creation; a ferocious, dragon-like version of Lugia. This epic statue is only the latest example of the fan art better than the Pokémon games' own graphics, which have been a sore spot among recently as newer games release looking less impressive than their contemporaries in other franchises.

Becca_3D is a long-time creator of 3D-printed resin statues and miniatures, many of which are for sale in various sizes via online shops like Etsy. Digital files are also available for purchase, so that owners of 3D printers can print out the models themselves should they so wish. Amongst Becca_3D's various creations is an amazing series of kaiju-like pokémon. Past creations of hers in this style include the ever-popular dragon Pokémon Charizard, as well as others such as Tyranitar and Nidoking. Godzilla is no stranger to rivals, considering that there are plenty of movies starring other kaiju out there, but this is one set of contenders he definitely wouldn't expect.

The striking image of a draconic version of Lugia was recently posted by dynamaxing and gigantamaxing of Pokémon Sword & Shield, which has drawn comparisons to kaiju in the past. Becca_3D has however taken things one step further, adding a level of realism to her work which simply cannot be found in the smooth rounded lines of Pokémon's official art style.

Although a departure from the far friendlier Pokémon audiences are used to, kaiju pokémon undoubtedly hold their own unique appeal. In fact, the combination of kaiju with other franchises often leads to impressive results. Unfortunately for any prospective buyers out there, however, the fully-painted version of Lugia is not available due to time constraints. Instead, customers who purchase the model will need to break out the paints themselves in order to bring the legendary pokémon to life.

Having already gained over 11 thousand likes, it is clear that the statue is a hit with Redditors. The unique visual style, taking cues from the aesthetics of Godzilla and the like, gives Lugia an almost savage edge. Fans of both kaiju monsters and Pokémon are sure to be amazed by the detail found in this statue and Becca_3D's other works. The creative aspect means that this model will particularly interest those with dovetailing interests, such as making custom miniatures for Dungeons & Dragons. This Lugia promises to be an interesting project for model builders to undertake.
