These freebies are often given out to players to get helpful items and new Pokémon, and they can be used by anyone, whether you have a Nintendo Switch Online hip or not. This is a great way to fill out your roster and get Pokémon you may not be able to get in this game.

Many of the items offered through codes or gifted online via the internet are things that would otherwise be difficult to obtain, so while not everything may pique your interest, it's important to keep an eye out for rare Pokémon. For example, during a 7-Star Tera Raid MewTwo event, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet gifted a Mew to each player, to be used for these raids.

New Pokémon & Helpful Items

As of April 2025, you can redeem 6 Mystery Gift codes for multiple reward items in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Unfortunately, this is because most previously available codes in the game expired at the start of the year. With a few exceptions, most of the in-game codes expire on set dates, giving you a timeframe at which you'll be able to claim the item. While it is unfortunate to miss some, new codes are constantly being added, so there's always something new to grab.

Thankfully, you do not need an Internet connection to redeem active codes, but some codes may require you to the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Therefore, don't be surprised if some don't work when you only have the base game. Additionally, some of the codes this month are exclusive to the different versions of the game, meaning you won't be able to claim them in the opposite game. The codes for April 2025 include:

The final code is ed online via the Internet, but only once you have the DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. To this code, you won't need to use any code. Select the " From The Internet" option instead of inputting a code, and it will find it automatically. You will need to be online for this one. The Mythical Pecha Berry reward can help win a challenging battle within the game's content expansion, so it's worth grabbing when you have a second.

Previously, unique Mystery Gift codes could be obtained for pre-ordering Pokémon Scarlet & Violet or purchasing the game within the first few months of its release. However, those codes have all expired and no longer apply to new purchases.

If you are lucky enough to attend the World Championships this year, you will likely receive a few different mystery gifts as part of the promotion for that event. However, Pokémon World Championship gift codes are typically distributed in person and thus only obtainable by those present for the event. They cannot be obtained otherwise. That being said, there's still a chance they could release a few codes for everyone, even those not in attendance, so be sure to keep an eye out.

While not a code, another thing to keep in mind is that if you connect Pokémon HOME to your copy of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you can receive a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly in Pokémon HOME, each with a special Hidden Ability. From there, you can transfer them into your game to have all three starters without finding a trade for them.

Unfortunately, for long-term players, none of the codes for April are all that exciting since they primarily consist of things that would aid those still in earlier stages of the game or are purely cosmetic. However, given how often Rotom Phones are used while playing, it is one of the better cosmetics they could provide and a way to stand out since this month's new codes are directly linked to the 2025 Pokémon Day Presents Event.

As for the sandwich ingredients, these can be used for any picnic with your Pokémon. If you are a newer player, the sandwich ingredients, while not incredibly rare to gather yourself, can still be useful to increase the chance of certain encounters if you're doing some shiny hunting. However, some fans have expressed frustration over this Pokémon Scarlet & Violet promo code as it would be more beneficial to receive something of more value to players, like rare items or Pokémon.

How To Use Mystery Gift Codes

Go To The Poké Portal

You must unlock at least one Pokémon Center in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet before claiming Mystery Gift codes. Depending on how long you agonize over which starter you should choose, this should not take more than an hour or so of gameplay. Then, you can head over to your menu.

When you enter the menu, the Poké Portal will become available, which you will want to select. You will see an option for “Mystery Gift,” after which you will have several more options. You can Mystery Gifts from the Internet, which is the DLC-specific Mystery Gift, but you can also select the Code option to enter any of the codes above.

You can also choose the “Check Poké Portal News” button to see if any new Mystery Gifts are available.

You will then immediately receive what you got from the reward. Pokémon will be sent to the Poké Box or your Party, depending on available slots. Items will be found in your bag, and clothing and accessories will be found within their category. Poké Dollars are added to your current total. Updates & Events In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Catch A Mighty Tyrannitar & Enjoy The Last Month of Regulation Set G Rules

While there aren't any exciting new codes for the month, one thing Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are never short on is events. Kicking off right at the start of the month, 7-Star Tera Raids featuring a mighty Tyrannitar will begin popping up all over Paldea. For this event specifically, Tyrannitar will feature the Mightiest Mark and come equipped with a Ghost Tera type. While the first run of this raid took place from March 27th to March 30th, the second run will occur from April 3rd at 5 pm PDT to April 6th at 4:59 pm PDT.

Season 29 for Ranked Battles will take place throughout April 2025, but more importantly, this will also serve as the last month for Regulation Set G rules.

This will allow players who missed the first weekend to have a second shot at it. However, that you can only claim this Pokémon once per save data, so while you can participate in as many of these raids as you like for more rewards, you won't be able to catch Tyrannitar in any subsequent raids. There will also be some 5-Star Blissey Tera Raids taking place at this time as well, with varying Tera types, making them a great way to farm some Tera Shards.

Finally, if you are working through the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Pokédex or have already completed it, you can link up your with Pokémon Home and receive a Shiny Meloetta for all your hard work. To do so, you must have Pokémon HOME ed onto the Switch, enabling you to transfer Pokémon between it and Scarlet & Violet. Once you've done that, you must transfer one of every Pokémon in the Pokédex for Scarlet & Violet to Pokémon HOME to them.

Once you've ed all the base game Pokémon, you will need to repeat the same steps with Pokémon exclusive to both of the Scarlet & Violet DLCs so that all three Pokédexs are completed in Pokémon Home. Once all three are marked complete, you can unlock a mystery gift in Pokémon HOME, Shiny Meloetta, which you can transfer into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Although it's not a new task, it's the perfect time to go back and complete it if you've completed everything else this month.
