The newly revealed set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Prismatic Evolutions, is taking the internet by storm. With the reveal of brand-new ex cards featuring Eevee and all eight of its evolutions, countless people are eager to get their hands on these cards as soon as possible. For competitive TCG players specifically, each card is sure to be an incredible new addition to their decks for different reasons.
Known as Terastal Festival in Japan, Prismatic Evolutions will be released in January. Even though all of these new ex cards are great in their own right, some of these beloved Eeveelutions clearly stand out from the rest. For anyone hoping to make a deck featuring their favorite Eeveelution, they should know where each of them rank in of both their sheer strength and useful strategies.
9 Eevee ex
An ex Card With Lots Of Potential
Eevee is described as being a Pokémon with a great amount of potential, and its ex card is a true reflection of that. Although it only has a single attack called Quartz Shine, it manages to deal a significant 200 points of damage to opponents, taking away a good chunk of their health points in one hit. However, Eevee ex was not designed to primarily be an attacker in this set.
Eevee ex's ability is what truly makes this card special. Previously, it was impossible for ex cards to evolve as they were meant to be the strongest cards in a person's deck. However, the Rainbow DNA ability allows Eevee ex to evolve into any of the other Eeveelution ex cards in this set, letting it harness the power of these other incredible cards.
8 Flareon ex
Setting Up And Unleashing Blazing Fire
The Fire-type Eeveelution Flareon serves as both a strong attacker, and a good way for players to set up attacks for future turns. Its first attack, Burning Charge, not only deals a decent 130 damage, but also allows the player to search for two basic energy and attach them both to one Pokémon of their choice. This means that players can either quickly set up Flareon's second attack, or prepare an attack from one of their Benched Pokémon in advance.

The Pokémon TCG’s Twilight Masquerade set includes several beautiful rare cards with striking illustrations that are worth quite a bit.
Its second attack, Carnelian, is immensely powerful, being able to deal an astounding 280 damage to an opponent. This much damage is able to knock out a lot of other powerful ex cards, as well as severely damage any that have much higher amounts of health. Despite this offensive power, however, it has the drawback of Flareon being unable to attack during the next turn.
7 Vaporeon ex
A Well-Rounded Water-Type Attacker
The Water-type Eeveelution Vaporeon is a very useful attacker to have in a deck, both against single and multiple opponents. When dealing with an opponent's active Pokémon, its second attack, Aquamarine, can deal an immense 280 total damage, nearly knocking out most other ex Pokémon. The only downside is that, much like Flareon ex's Carnelian attack, Vaporeon will not be able to attack during its next turn after using it.
Vaporeon ex is also a very useful card to have if the opponent has a lot of ex cards in play. Its first attack, Heavy Squall, allows a player to deal 60 damage to each of the opponent's ex Pokémon. While the amount of damage is significantly less than Aquamarine, it can be very useful if multiple ex Pokémon are already at low health, providing an opportunity to knock out multiple opponents in one turn to take more prize cards.
6 Jolteon ex
A Shocking Amount Of Power
The Electric-type Eeveelution Jolteon is another powerful asset that would be a good addition to any player's deck, especially for those looking to take down single opponents in one hit. Its first attack, Flash Spear, initially deals a decent 60 points of damage. However, players will have the option to discard up to two energy from their benched Pokémon, which can allow Flash Spear to deal 90 more damage for each discard, thereby dealing a massive blow to opponents.
Furthermore, much like Flareon and Vaporeon, Jolteon also has a very powerful second attack. Dravite is able to deal 280 damage in a single hit, although it does prevent Jolteon from attacking during its next turn.
5 Sylveon ex
Crafty Strategies To Challenge Opponents
Sylveon ex is able to deal decent damage to opponents, but its strength primarily lies in how it can trip up any opponent that isn't prepared to deal with it. Its first attack, Magical Charm, not only deals a good 160 points of damage, but it also causes the opposing Pokémon's attacks to deal 100 less damage during their next turn. This means that there is a chance for players to potentially make their opponent unable to deal any damage at all, or simply very little, allowing Sylveon to continuously deal devastating damage in return.
On the other hand, its second attack, Angelite, allows players to choose two of their opponent's benched Pokémon and force them to shuffle them and all attached cards back into their deck. This means, if an opponent is setting up their powerful ex cards in the bench, players can make them lose their powerful cards and force them to search for them again later. This can be devastating for any opponent who isn't properly prepared with certain tools, items, or er cards that could help them recover their cards again, thereby giving the Sylveon ex player a clear advantage.
4 Leafeon ex
A Strong Attacker And Helpful Healer
Eevee's Grass-type evolution Leafeon is very useful in the TCG as a damage dealer, especially when facing opponents that use a lot of energy cards. Its first attack, Leaf Typhoon, deals 60 damage multiplied by the amount of energy attached to all the opponent's Pokémon. This provides players with an opportunity to deal an incredible amount of damage for only two energy.

With exclusive promo cards set to feature popular Pokémon and beautiful cards, trainers will want to look out for promo events.
Furthermore, Leafeon is also very useful as a healer thanks to its second attack, Moss Agate. On top of dealing 230 damage to the opponent's active Pokémon, it also heals 100 damage from each of the player's benched Pokémon. This means that Leafeon can help ensure that many other powerful cards manage to survive longer in the game, providing players a potential chance to make a comeback.
3 Glaceon ex
Overwhelming The Opponent With Frigid Temps
Glaceon ex may seem rather underwhelming at first glance in of how much damage it can deal to opponents, but upon closer inspection, it can actually be very useful for players looking for cards with a focus on strategy. Its first attack, Frost Bullet, deals 110 damage to the opponent's active Pokémon, and only 30 damage to any benched Pokémon of the player's choosing. While the damage dealt to benched Pokémon is rather minuscule, it can be incredibly useful if utilized properly with Glaceon's second attack.
Euclase is a very powerful move with some very specific requirements, as it allows players to immediately knock out any one of an opponent's Pokémon that has taken exactly 60 points of damage. This means that only two uses of Frost Bullet are enough to make any one of an opponent's Pokémon a target. As long as players can use both of Glaceon ex's moves properly, then they will be able to knock out many powerful cards with relative ease.
2 Umbreon ex
High Costs For Great Attack Power
Eevee's Dark-type Eeveelution Umbreon ex is a decently strong attacker with moves that are highly risky but suitably rewarding, and will potentially be valuable on secondary markets thanks to its similaraties to the iconic Moonbreon card. For three energy, its first attack, Moon Mirage, deals a decent 160 damage while also leaving the opponent's active Pokémon confused. This means that the opposing active Pokémon has a chance to hurt itself and skip its turn, thereby saving Umbreon from being damaged potentially multiple times in a row.
Umbreon ex's second attack is where it really stands out from many of the other cards in Prismatic Evolutions. Onyx allows the player to discard all their energy from Umbreon to automatically take a prize card. Even though this would leave Umbreon with no more energy to attack during the next turn, and doesn't deal any damage to the opponent, it still leaves players one step closer to a potential victory.
1 Espeon ex
Unleashing Psychic Power To Wear Down Opponents
Out of all the Eeveelution ex cards in Prismatic Evolutions, the Psychic-type Espeon is a fantastic addition to player's decks due to both its powerful attacks and its multiple ways to trip up opponents. Its first attack, Psych Out, both deals 160 damage and allows the player to randomly discard a card from their opponent's hand, providing the chance to remove some of the opponent's most powerful ex cards, ers, or tools. Espeon's second attack, Amethyst, is where it truly shines, as it allows players to discard all of their opponent's highest-stage evolution cards from the bench.
Using Vaporeon ex's Heavy Squall attack followed by Espeon ex's Amethyst provides an opportunity to knock out multiple benched Pokémon at once.
Ultimately, out of all the cards that are available in Prismatic Evolutions, Espeon ex is truly the best one. With its numerous attacks that both provide a lot of power and the opportunity for effective strategies, it is certain to catch the attention of numerous Pokémon Trading Card Game competitive players.
