Recently, a brand enw card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game set Terastal Festival was revealed. The card in question is an Eevee ex, showcasing the adorable first generation Pokémon being imbued with the power of Terastalization. However, much like Eevee itself, this card has a hidden potential that makes it incredibly unique compared to most other ex cards.

The Terastal Festival set is said to feature numerous powerful new ex cards featuring the power of Terastalization. Although it is unknown when these cards will arrive in the West, they are set to be released in Japan on December 6, 2024. When this happens, players will absolutely need to keep an eye out for this new Eevee ex and what it can do.

What Makes The Eevee Ex Card So Unique

An Adorable Card With A Unique Ability

Eevee is primarily known for being able to evolve into eight unique evolutions, each with its own type. In the games, this allows trainers the freedom to evolve their Eevee into whatever they wanted, thereby covering for certain weaknesses in their current team. Perhaps this is why Eeveelutions have remained popular in the years since.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game caps off a strong 2024 with the release of Surging Sparks, and Pikachu is set to make a big splash in gameplay.

Typically, ex cards in the Pokémon TCG do not evolve, as they are often the strongest cards a player can have in their deck. Eevee ex changes this, however, with its unique ability called "Rainbow DNA." This ability allows players to evolve their Eevee ex into any one of the eight Eeveelutions, as long as the card is currently in their hand. This ultimately provides them the freedom to build their deck with whichever Eeveelutions they wish.

Flareon ex was also revealed alongside Eevee ex, and it is certain to be an immense powerhouse when in battle. Its first attack, "Burning Charge," is primarily notable, as it is able to deal an impressive 130 damage while also allowing players to search for two basic energy and attach them to a single Pokémon of their choosing. This can not only allow for players to knock out powerful Pokémon in just a few attacks, but also quickly set up even more powerful attacks for future turns.

Sylveon ex from the Surging Sparks set is another possible good addition to an Eevee ex deck. On top of its first attack," Magical Charm," being able to deal 160 damage, it can also cause the opponent's Pokémon to deal 100 less damage with its attacks. Its second attack deals no damage, but is able to take all of an opponent's benched Pokémon and their attached cards and shuffle them back into their deck, temporarily removing any preparations and backup that might have been previously set up.

Knowing that all the Eeveelutions will be available as powerful ex cards means that there is a lot of potential for Eevee ex to become a big part of the meta in the coming months.

With the addition of basic Eevees from various sets like Astral Radiance, even more Eeveelutions can be added on top of the ex cards. The Starter Deck Generations set includes a Sylveon chard with the ability Safeguard, preventing it from taking damage from all attacks made by an opponent's ex Pokémon. This is exactly the same kind of ability as Mimikyu from the Paldea Evolved set, which was an incredibly popular card in the Pokémon TCG meta over the past few years.

Knowing that all the Eeveelutions will be available as powerful ex cards means that there is a lot of potential for Eevee ex to become a big part of the meta in the coming months. With numerous options for additions to decks, only time will tell which ones will come out on top. Regardless of which ones do, it is undeniable that the current state of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is about to be shaken up drastically by these adorable yet powerful new additions.
