The Pokémon Trading Card Game's newest expansion, Journey Together, features over 180 new cards, and the rarest of them are projected to go for eye-watering prices. This set includes over 40 Trainer's Pokémon, many of them ex. Alongside powerful moves that will bring your deck to the next level, some of these cards also feature full art and exclusive designs.
The set releases on March 28th, 2025, and it's likely that this release will be plagued by similar scalping issues as Surging Sparks and previous releases have been. Despite meager attempts by official Pokémon Stores to prevent scalping, reselling has become a huge problem in many card-collecting communities. There are plenty of powerful cards being added with this expansion, and for some, their design alone makes them worth chasing. The price estimates for these cards come from TCG Player's listing, and will likely change as the set releases and rarity is settled.

10 Iono's Bellibolt ex Ultra Rare
Card 172/159 In The Journey Together Set
The Journey Together set features quite a few Trainer's Pokémon cards; Scarlet and Violet's gym leader Iono has a whole host of Pokémon released in this set. As Paldea's third gym leader, she uses Electric-type Pokémon to shock her foes and fans alike. Her Bellibolt is featured on an Ultra Rare card with an ability that allows you to attach Electric energy to any of Iono's Pokémon as often as you want on your turn.
Though you can only attach energy to Iono's Pokémon with her Bellibolt's ability, it's not limited to benched Pokemon, meaning you can throw energy on the Pokémon you have in play as well.
This card is predicted to retail for about $23 on TCGPlayer, which is pricey, but overall not too bad for such a cute card. Not only is it a powerful addition to any Electric-type deck, it's also a beautiful holofoil to add to any collection. Whether you collect for the sake of it or to build a competitive deck, the Iono's Bellibolt Ultra Rare is a mid-price card to chase.
9 Iono's Bellibolt ex Hyper Rare
Card 188/159 In The Journey Together Set
A step up from the Ultra Rare variation of this card, the Iono's Bellibolt ex Hyper Rare is predicted to retail at about $54 on TCGPlayer, over doubling the price of its Ultra Rare counterpart. The reason for the price hike is the adorable full art, featuring Iono and her Bellibolt in a clean holofoil print. Those lucky enough to pull this card will have a tough choice between keeping it for their collection or adding it to a Rain Dance-style deck.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Now Has Shiny Pokémon, But One Card Requires Players To Pay Up
Pokémon TCG Pocket has just launched Shining Revelry, but you'll have to pay $25 to purchase a bundle containing a brand-new Shiny Mewtwo card.
8 Articuno Illustration Rare
Card 161/159 In The Journey Together Set
Sitting at just about the same price as the HR Bellibolt, IR Articuno will run you around $58 on TCGPlayer. This is a holofoil print with an absolutely goregeous full art, and was originally released in the Japanese Battle Partners expansion. The artist, Kuroimori, has created eight other cards for the game's previous expansions, including the Scarlet & Violet release's Gardevoir ex full art card.

I'm Worried About Pokémon TCG's Journey Together Set After Seeing The Full Card List
The Pokémon TCG seems like it is plagued with concerns over stocking recently, and with Journey Together, the problem remains persistent.
The card features Articuno in full flight in a snowstorm, and includes two moves. The first, Frigid Fluttering, allows you to search your deck for two Basic Water Energy cards, attaching them to Articuno and then shuffling. Its attack, Ice Blast, requires to Water Energies and one Colorless, dealing 110 damage. It's an overall pretty simple card, but the combo of moves it features makes it easy to get going.
7 Volcanion ex Special Illustration Rare
Card 182/159 In The Journey Together Set
Another short jump in price from its neighbor, Volcanion ex's Special Illustration Rare card is predicted to go for about $64 on TCGPlayer. As another full-art holofoil card, this normally silly-looking Pokemon is surrounded by lava and fire in an intimidating stance. Its ability Scalding Steam allows you to apply Burn to your enemy's Active Pokemon, and is a major threat that threatens free damage each turn.
So far, it looks like a good combo with this card is the Journey Together Magmortar, which adds 30 damage to the Burned condition. However, Burn isn't as strong as other status applications, like Poison, as it can be automatically cured and then must be reapplied. Keeping this in mind, $64 is still a hefty price for any card, so consider your use-cases before chasing this card too hard.
6 Lillie's Clefairy ex Ultra Rare
Card 173/159 In The Journey Together Set
This card is going to show up a few times in the top-priced cards of the Journey Together set, and with good reason. The UR version of Lillie's Clefairy is currently running around $77 on TCGPlayer, and that's just for this version. Clefairy's ability, Fairy Zone, makes the weaknesses of any opposing Dragon-Type Pokemon Psychic, applying a 2x weakness no matter their original weakness.
Clefairy's attack, Full Moon Rondo, is incredibly cheap, costing only one Psychic Energy and one Colorless. It only does 20 base damage, but its effect, which adds an additional 20 for each benched Pokemon on both sides of the field, gives it the potential to do much more. When combined with cards like Area Zero Underdepths, this two-energy move can swing for up to 340 damage without resistances.
Not every Clefairy deck needs to run Area Zero Underdepths, but it is one relatively simple way to make Clefairy your hard-hitter.
5 Iono's Bellibolt ex Special Illustration Rare
Card 183/159 In The Journey Together Set
The Special Illustration Rare version of Iono's Bellibolt is, unsurprisingly, running at a much steeper price than the other versions of the card. Currently at $130 on TCGPlayer, this Iono's Bellibolt ex is likely going to remain one of the most expensive cards of the set. As discussed above, Bellibolt has a few synergy options for deck building, including the obvious combination with Raging Bolt.
The Bellibolt/Raging Bolt combo allows for fast energy generation and then discard, powering up Raging Bolt's swing. However, relying on a two-card combo can make your deck unbalanced, and will require you to invest in the Fighting-Type side of your deck as well as the Electric-Type. Unfortunately, the Bellibolt combo isn't as strong as the Noctowl/Raging Bolt combo with Professor Sada's Vitality as it lacks the Trainer card synergy, but it's nowhere near unplayable in the right circumstances.
4 Hop's Zacian ex Special Illustration Rare
Card 186/159 In The Journey Together Set
As another Special Illustration Rare card, Hop's Zacian ex is running at $174 on TCGPlayer and other online markets, and I can understand why. I've always been a sucker for pretty cards in my decks, whether it's Final Fantasy/Magic: The Gathering collab cards or adorable Pokémon, and Hop's Zacian ex is right up that alley. Your Galarian ally is featured alongside his Zacian under dappled sunlight, presented in shining holofoil to boot.
The most expensive card in the Journey Together set is the Special Edition Rare of Lillie's Clefairy ex, listed for an incredible $329.36 on TCGPlayer at the time of writing.
The most common deck for Hop's Zacian ex features Hop's Snorlax, Hop's Choice Belt, and Postwick Stadium among other cards. Zacian ex isn't actually your main attacker, however — that title will go to Snorlax instead. Using only Hop's Choice Belt and Hop's Snorlax's ability, Extra Helpings, Snorlax can deal a massive 200 damage for only three Colorless Energy, and it's only a single prize.
3 N's Zoroark ex Special Illustration Rare
Card 185/159 In The Journey Together Set
Making another significant jump in price from the previous card, N's Zoroark ex Special Edition Rare is currently priced around $213 on TCGPlayer. The card's full art features N and his Zoroark looking appropriately devious, and this iconic trainer's appearance alone makes this a chase card for me. Black and White are iconic entries in the Pokémon franchise, and seeing this dastardly duo realized in holofoil splendor makes for one beautiful card.
The wording on N's Zoroark's ability has changed since its release during the Sun and Moon sets. Previously, the ability could be used even if there were no cards to be drawn, allowing for Fossil control players to shuffle the discarded card back into their hand without worrying about decking out. Now, the ability can only be used if there are cards to be drawn.
Alongside the appearance of the card, N's Zoroark ex features some pretty powerful moves. Its attack, Night Joker, allows you to choose any of N's Pokémon from your bench, and then use one of their attacks. The move only costs two Dark Energy, and with how powerful N's other Pokémon like his Reshiram can be, this is a super-efficient way to save Energies when using those stronger attacks.
2 Salamance ex Special Illustration Rare
Card 187/159 In The Journey Together Set
This iconic Dragon-Type has had a few iterations since its introduction in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and this version is going for a market price of almost $203 on TCGPlayer. It's a beautiful card, featuring full art by Tsuyoshi Nogono, and the gorgeous visuals pair with just as gorgeous attacks.
Its first attack, Wide Blast, costs two Fire and one Colorless energy to deal 50 damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokémon, ignoring resistances and weaknesses. On top of this barrage of damage, its second attack deals a whopping 300 damage for an ittedly high five Energy (one Water, one Fire, and two Colorless). This is enough to OHKO many opponents, winning you at least one prize card for your trouble.
1 Lillie's Clefairy ex Special Illustration Rare
Card 184/159 In The Journey Together Set
The most expensive card in the Journey Together set is the Special Edition Rare of Lillie's Clefairy ex, listed for an incredible $329.36 on TCGPlayer at the time of writing. Commonly, this card is used as a tech card in counter-Dragapult decks, rather than as the crown jewel of its own deck (thanks to its Fairy Zone ability), but its true place in the meta remains to be seen post-rotation.
Despite being a fairly simple card, Lillie's Clefairy ex could shake things up.
Whether you've got money to burn or are working with a budget, any of the cards on this list are swoon-worthy chase cards to look out for in the Journey Together release. As the market gets tougher thanks to numerous factors, grabbing the cards you want can be tough. Unfortunately, it's not looking hopeful that this release will go any differently than Surging Sparks' did, so prepare for a tiring fight to grab the boosters and boxes for the Pokémon TCG's newest release.
