The recently revealed Scarlet & Violet - Journey Together, will include a new Elite Trainer Box. The new set will heavily feature new Trainer’s Pokémon (formerly Owner’s Pokémon), cards like Misty’s Gyarados: unique versions of specific Pokémon with special abilities. From what has been previewed so far, the set includes some cool full-art treatments for the new Trainer’s Pokémon cards, which feature both the Pokémon itself and their trainer. For fans of Pokémon’s human characters, this set is a great chance to collect some cards featuring them alongside their signature battle partners.

Pokémon’s Elite Trainer Boxes have been around for a while now, and the contents of the new Journey Together box are pretty consistent with previous releases. Despite the name, these products are actually a good way for a newer player to start their Pokémon collection, since they include some helpful accessories. That said, experienced players can also get a lot out of a box like this, as it includes some new promo cards and a decent number of booster packs from the new set.

What's Included In Journey Together's Elite Trainer Box

Journey Together’s Elite Trainer Box Includes Booster Packs, Promo Cards, And More

Pokémon: Scarlet & Violet - Journey Together’s Elite Trainer Box comes with 11 booster packs of the set. The Elite Trainer Box costs $59.99 from the Pokémon Center, whereas individual booster packs of Journey Together are listed at $4.49. The Elite Trainer Box costs about $10 more than buying 11 packs outright, so when considering whether this product is the right fit, it’s worth deciding if the extra contents of the box are worth $10 or if it’s better to just buy the packs and save some money.

Journey Together Elite Trainer Boxes also come with a full-art promo of one of the new Trainer’s Pokémon cards: N’s Zorua. N is one of Pokémon’s more interesting antagonists, first introduced in Pokémon Black and White, which are potentially getting remakes in 2025. In the game, he is manipulated by Team Plasma’s leader into thinking that Pokémon and humans should live in separate worlds, but eventually has a change of heart. All Journey Together Elite Trainer boxes come with one of these promos, but players who order from the Pokémon Center will get an additional promo with the Pokémon Center logo on it.

The last Pokémon cards included in the Elite Trainer box are 45 Energy cards. Energy is an essential building block of a Pokémon deck, so this is a nice addition for new collectors trying to assemble their first deck. Experienced players will likely also appreciate having some extra energy cards if they plan on building a new deck around some of the cards they get in this set.

In addition to cards, the Elite Trainer Box also includes several accessories. This includes 65 card sleeves featuring artwork with N and his Zoroark. N’s Zoroark ex is another card in Journey Together, which evolves from N’s Zorua. With both themed sleeves and the Stage One Pokémon included in this box, players looking to build around the new Zoroark might want to consider grabbing an Elite Trainer Box from the set.

The box also includes six damage-counter dice, a die used for coin flips in competitions, and two condition markers. The plastic condition markers have icons indicating that a Pokémon is either burned or poisoned. There is also the box itself, which can be used for storing all the new cards players get in it and has some extra space for its accessories or more cards.

Lastly, the box includes a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. This is the free online version of the Pokémon TCG. These codes usually give players digital versions of cards and accessories from the Elite Trainer Box like the sleeves. Players don’t get anything for entering multiple codes from the same product.
