human vs. human battles. Other events focus on mission-based rewards, with players collecting special es to obtain accessories and other items featuring their favorite Pokémon.
Today, Pokémon TCG Pocket launched their latest event, with a focus on competitive battling. The Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 is the second emblem event and focuses on trying to score several consecutive wins in competitive play. Players can earn four emblems in the new event, with the highest reward available for picking up five consecutive wins. The Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 runs from today through December 16th, making it one of the shortest events in Pokémon TCG Pocket yet.
Pokémon TCG Pocket's New Event, Explained
Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 Rewards Include Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust
The Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 has a relatively simple premise. Players attempt to score consecutive victories, with a total of four emblems on the line. Players earn their first emblem by winning twice in a row, and the other three emblems can only be earned with even higher win streaks. Additionally, players can earn pack hourglasses and shinedust for completing missions, which are rewarded for victories, whether consecutive or not.

This Hilarious Pokémon TCG Pocket Deck Shows A Flaw With The Game's Programming
One funny Pokémon TCG Pocket deck manipulates the game's programming in a way that may cause some issues when more cards get released in future sets.
Some players are trying to game the event by offering to immediately concede after they've earned their emblems. While players might get a lucky concession as they're attempting to complete this event, they will still need some good luck and a strong deck to win. On the plus side, this event doesn't require any sort of event stamina to complete.

Our Take: A Worthy Event?
Players Will Need Some Solid Luck To Get All Emblems In This Event
Due to the nature of Pokémon TCG Pocket, picking up five consecutive wins is a very tall task. In addition to the sheer randomness of card draws and whatever deck their opponent is playing, players also are at a disadvantage if they go first.
I'm glad that the main rewards (the pack hourglasses) are given out solely for participating in battles rather than winning them. Emblems are nice, but these particular ones signify a run of good luck rather than any sort of real skill in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
