It hasn't been a month since the Pokémon TCG Pocket, and fans already have another set to look forward to in Shining Revelry. Well, maybe — some are lamenting not being able to keep up with the pace of set releases (understandably so).
Regardless, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about Shining Revelery. As you can guess from the name, it features the introduction of Shiny Pokémon, giving you yet another set of chase items. There's even more in store, though: ranked matches, new ex Starter Deck missions, and a Shiny display board, among other goodies.

Newest Pokémon TCG Pocket Set Is Shining Revelry
Get You Some Pokémon ScarletAndViolet Cards
Shining Revelry will of course boast new cards when it launches (including some additions from Pokémon ScarletandViolet), but apart from that, new Starter Deck missions will run from Friday, March 28 06:00 UTC to Sunday, April 27 at 5:59 UTC. The idea with these is completing them nets you a deck ticket, which is then swapped for a starter deck of your choice. It's not clear if you can keep these after the missions expire or not. Don't get too excited either way: typically in card games, these are low-power decks, but they offer a starting point for new players. And for experienced players, they can offer a starting point for upgrades.
Shining Revelry is sure to be a popular set in Pokémon TCG Pocket, if only for a few hit cards, easy access to competitive play, and the prospect of Shiny hunting for your favorite Pokémon.
Ranked matches are the other major addition. While some have argued strongly in favor of a Pokémon TCG Pocket ranked mode, other players and streamers have argued against this since the launch of Pokémon TCG Pocket, arguing it would spoil the purity and relaxed feel of the game. Well, too late now!
Tournaments have been going on with the game for a long while, anyway, so a no-setup required ranked mode should be welcome to anyone participating in those. Even moreso, knowing emblems will be offered based on your end-of-season rank (the season will end April 27). Meanwhile, the shop will offer a Shiny Charizard-display board and binder for those that love to show off their favorite cards.
When Shining Revelry Releases In Pokémon TCG Pocket
Yet Another Set Date Is Looming In
Shining Revelry will release on March 27, 2025. Though an exact time isn't confirmed, it's safe to assume it matches the Starter Deck mission schedule and will arrive 06:00 UTC. This date is in keeping with Dena's recent once per month set schedule. As mentioned, some players (especially free-to-play ones) are finding the intense schedule tough to keep up with. (This is all too familiar to anyone playing Pokémon TCG Live or Pokémon TCG.) On the other hand, you certainly can't complain about a lack of content or stale metas.

As you can see above, some of these have Shiny versions for those intrepid or rich enough to track them down. Tatsugiri, Sprigatito, and Iono are among the Pokémon ScarletandViolet additions. For those who play Pokémon TCG, Iono is both a terror and a staple, and will definitely have an impact in Pokémon TCG Pocket as well. The other heavy hitters are Giratina ex and Beedrill ex, though it's almost anyone's guess as to what will end up being a top performer — we've seen over and over surprise cards take over a meta, and expected bangers fall by the wayside.

Pokémon TCG Pocket: 10 Underrated Triumphant Light Cards You’re Probably Overlooking
The Triumphant Light expansion has plenty of standout cards, but some underrated gems deserve more attention. Here are 10 you might be overlooking.
Whatever happens, Shining Revelry is sure to be a popular set in Pokémon TCG Pocket, if only for a few hit cards, easy access to competitive play, and the prospect of Shiny hunting for your favorite Pokémon. Lucario ex looks like the most competitive of the bunch revealed so far, but everyone can agree Pachirisu has them all beat on the cute factor.
