The own Japanese set this year, and now it's been officially revealed alongside several of the new cards appearing in the set.
Per PokeBeach, The Glory of Team Rocket releases next month in Japan and features 98 cards, not including Secret Rare cards. While other recent sets have featured multiple Trainers and their partner Pokémon, this set focuses exclusively on Team Rocket. What's more, many of the Team Rocket cards in the set are specifically geared for a Team Rocket-exclusive deck, meaning that we should see these powerful Pokémon used in competitive decks for years to come. The new set is out in Japan on April 18 and will be part of the Destined Rivals set released internationally later this year.
What Pokémon Will Appear In The Glory Of Team Rocket?
Set Contains Mewtwo And Persian, Both Of Which Have Thematically Powerful Attacks
The new set's highlight is the powerful Team Rocket's Mewtwo card, which has a whopping 280 HP. For a Basic Pokémon, Mewtwo has a lot of bulk, but it comes with some heavy restrictions. Mewtwo's ability prevents it from attacking unless there are a total of four Team Rocket's Pokémon in play. Mewtwo's Deletion Sphere deals 160 damage plus 60 damage for each Energy discarded from a player's Benched Pokémon (with a limit of two energy discards per attack). This means that Team Rocket's Mewtwo can deal up to 280 damage a turn, which is extremely powerful.

"Pokémon Is Really Trying To Bankrupt Me This Year": Pokémon TCG's Journey Together Full Card List Appears Online
The Pokémon Trading Card Game's newest set, Journey Together just had its full card list appear online, giving players a chance to see every new card!
Other cards in the set include Team Rocket's Persian, which can choose one attack from among the top 10 cards of an opponent's deck and use it as their own, and Team Rocket’s Spidops, which can retrieve energy from the Discard pile. There are also a ton of er cards and items that are specifically geared to Team Rocket, adding additional lairs of synergy to decks. Topping off the set is a new Team Rocket's Energy card, which adds two Darkness or Psychic Energy to one of Team Rocket's Pokémon.
Our Take: The Most Powerful Trainer's Pokémon Cards Yet
This Set Is A Highlight Of The Trainer's Pokémon Era

Because Team Rocket is getting a whole set to itself, it's not really a surprise that it's getting all the best synergies and abilities. I can already see plenty of ways that intrepid trainers will be able to boost a Team Rocket's deck up to a competitive level. What's going to be really fun to see is what Secret Rare cards this new set gets, as I expect Mewtwo to receive a number of Special Illustration Rare cards that will be top-sellers on the secondary market. Pokémon TCG players should prepare their wallets, as The Glory of Team Rocket will almost assuredly make off with their money.
