Nintendo and TiMi Studio Group’s Pokémon Unite roster of monsters and engage in team-based battles with friends.

Pokémon Unite hasn't had the smoothest of launch periods, as players have complained that the game features unfair stat boosts for optional microtransactions, requiring players to pay real money if they want to win past basic levels. Additionally, developer TiMi Studio group recently came under fire for some insensitive comments made on social media. Nonetheless, Pokémon Unite has seen a steady stream of additional content in the months since its launch, including nerfs and buffs for Pokémon Unite characters.

During a recent YouTube Pokémon Presents livestream, it was revealed that Pokémon Unite will launch on iOS and Android-based mobile devices on September 22. According to a subsequent posting on the Pokémon Unite official website, players will be able to pre- on the Apple App Store and Google Play starting today - with special bonuses being offered if the pre-registration numbers reach certain amounts. If preregistration totals reach 2,500,000, players will be rewarded with a Pikachu Unite license, and if they reach 5,000,000, they will receive a special Festival Style: Pikachu Holowear. Should these goals be met, players who pre- will be able to claim the rewards on October 31, 2021 by logging onto the mobile version of Pokémon Unite and completing a certain log-in event by 7:59 a.m. Pacific Time.

This was just one of the many announcements made during today's Pokémon Presents livestream event, which gave fans closer looks at titles like Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl. For the former, players will be able to ride certain Pokémon as mounts and choose between two special Styles during battle. In the latter, players will be able to customize their Poké Balls with new stickers that grant boosts and stat upgrades to Pokémon within them, as well as engage in rhythm-based Pokémon Contest minigames.

Pokémon Unite has had a mixed reception overall, but the game does seem to have built up a devoted fanbase of Pokémon players since it was released in July. Interested Pokémon fans without a Nintendo Switch will now be able to see what the buzz is about when Pokémon Unite launches on iOS and Android-compatible mobile devices on September 22.
