The final episode of Poker Face season 1 has just been released, and as season 2 has already been confirmed, there's a specific handful of characters who could return. The series marked a refreshing return to the procedural, classic whodunit show that has been absent for years. In Poker Face, Charlie is on the run from her former employer, traveling across the U.S., and there happens to be a murder in every town in which she ends up. As Charlie is a self-proclaimed human lie detector, having the skill to tell whenever somebody isn't telling the truth, she feels compelled to solve them.
Outside of Charlie, most ing characters only appear in one episode, as they're simply people that Charlie encounters along her travels. But those characters are so unique and quirky that it's hard to say goodbye after only just being introduced to them. Poker Face has been renewed for season 2, and the only thing that's confirmed is Natasha Lyonne's return to play Charlie. Given the format of the series, it's hard to see how other characters can return. However, a select few of the cast could reprise their roles for Poker Face season 2, and some of them have already been set up.
Sheriff Parker
Most of the characters that Charlie meets end up dead or are just blips on the radar, and Sheriff Parker (Noah Segan) fits into the latter. In fact, he might be the smallest blip of all the characters as he only appears in one scene in season 1, episode 1, "Dead Man's Hand." Similar to his role in Knives Out, Segan plays an authoritative figure who is introduced when Charlie visits Parker in his office. She's looking for information or pieces of evidence surrounding her friend Natalie's death. Though Charlie seemingly doesn't stop at the same location twice, she could always return to the very place where she grew up.
It's almost certain the parker will return, as Segan is close friends with Poker Face creator Rian Johnson and has cameoed in almost all Johnson's other projects. As Johnson wrote and directed both Knives Out and Glass Onion, Segan appears in both of those movies, playing plays Trooper Wagner in Knives Out and Derol in Glass Onion. So even if Sheriff Parker doesn't show up in Poker Face season 2, it's possible that Segan could appear as a different character entirely. Johnson could even cast Segan as a different character given that he's such a self-aware filmmaker.
Marge
In season 1, episode 2, "The Night Shift," Charlie meets Marge, a trucker who delivers pharmaceuticals. The character has a great side hustle, as she also sells the drugs that she delivers, and she's a useful for Charlie to have on the road. Marge was framed for murder and arrested at the end of the episode, and while it's hinted at that she does get released, it's one of the few loose ends in Poker Face that doesn't get tied up. A season 2 episode could revolve around that, or at the very least, her and Charlie's paths must cross again on the road.
Austin
The Okja-referencing Poker Face episode, season 1, episode 3, "The Stall," introduces Austin, another one of Charlie's aides on her journey. The character is a radio host who voices several different characters, and he has an incredible talent for being able to impersonate almost anyone. It isn't a certainty that Austin will return in season 2, as Charlie never visits the same place twice and Austin is firmly based in Texas. However, Austin frequently complained about how bored he was at the radio station and pandering to Republican listeners. So there's a chance he could move on to greater pastures and cross paths with Charlie in a different state.
Luca Clark
The good-hearted FBI agent (Simon Helberg) is introduced in season 1, episode 5, "Time of the Monkey," working with people in the witness protection program. It's hinted in the episode that he will return after Luca Clark gives Charlie his card and tells her to him if he's ever in trouble. He does return in episode 10, "The Hook," when he's assigned to Sterling Sr.'s murder. At the end of the episode, Luca straight-up offers Charlie a job at the bureau only for her to grin and walk away. But Charlie still has his card, and he'll likely show up again to work on another case that's mutually beneficial.
Raoul
Raoul (Luis Guzmán) is another aide to Charlie who helps her in season 1, episode 8, "The Orpheus Syndrome." Raoul is an istrative worker for the movie production company LAM and helps bring down the murderer in a case that went unsolved for decades using archive footage. Unfortunately, Raoul didn’t really have any kind of skill. In fact, he was useless, but he was a loveable character, Guzmán is a perfect fit for Poker Face, and after losing his job, there’s no knowing where Raoul ended up. "The Orpheus Syndrome" ended suddenly without any kind of resolution, especially when it comes to Raoul, but season 2 could clear that up.
Beatrix Hasp
Poker Face season 1 saw Charlie on the run from Sterling Jr. only for him to offer her a way out of the criminal life, and that will likely happen in season 2. After Sterling Sr. was murdered, Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman), one of the heads of the five families, was discussed as a major threat. Though it's a voice-only role, at the end of "The Hook," Charlie gets a call from Beatrix, hinting that she'll be the big bad of season 2. Just as Sterling Sr. and Sterling Jr. had planned, based on the phone call, Beatrix wants to take advantage of Charlie's lie detector gift too.
Emily Cale
While Charlie is obviously the protagonist of Poker Face, the episodes aren't about her but the murders she attempts to solve. However, in "The Hook," one member of Charlie's family is finally revealed. Emily Cale (Clea DuVall) is introduced midway through the episode and reluctantly hands Charlie the keys to her father's boat. It was mentioned that the two haven't seen each other for years and it's assumed that they had some sort of falling out, but neither of them goes into specific detail about what happened, hinting at a potential season 2 arc. And that means there's a chance that the season will introduce more of Charlie's family too.
