A new leaks and rumors from spreading. While we know that one Pokémon game is confirmed for 2025, a new rumor suggests that another Pokémon game will be coming out soon.

Riddler Khu, a Pokémon leaker who has correctly referenced past unreleased Pokémon games and information, made a post on X on December 31st suggesting that another Pokémon project will be released in 2025. The X post stated that the new Pokémon game was not included in the infamous "Teraleak" that occurred earlier this year and will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2. The tweet also included a picture of a dolphin with black and white coloration, which is likely a reference to Pokémon Black & White remakes. Centro Leaks also summarized Riddler Khu's posts and posted them to X as well.

There Is Some Evidence That A Pokémon Black & White Remake Is In Development

There is some circumstantial evidence that another Pokémon game could be released in 2025. Pokémon has slowly more Unova references will pop up in other Pokémon games and media in the coming months. Finally, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the previous Pokémon game, was released just two months after the release of the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl remakes, which at least shows that a dual release is possible.

However, it seems very odd that a new Pokémon game would somehow have escaped the Teraleak, especially as datafiles related to both Pokémon Legends ZA and a supposed Gen 10 Pokémon game were included. At the very least, that would suggest that Game Freak isn't involved in the new Pokémon game at all. That would further strengthen the idea of a new remake of some kind, as third-party developer ILCA was heavily involved in the development of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Pokémon Legends ZA Is Probably Not The Only Pokémon Project Planned For Next Year

2024 was one of the quietest years for the Pokémon franchise in a decade. With no new game releases outside of Pokémon TCG Pocket and no news about Pokémon Legends ZA, it feels like The Pokémon Company is cooking up something big for next year.

Whether that's a second Pokémon game release or something else entirely is unclear, but fans should probably expect the franchise to do something big in 2025 and then top it in 2026 when Pokémon celebrates its 30th anniversary. In the meantime, we can't wait for Pokémon Legends ZA and the return of Mega Evolution in 2025, and hope even more surprises are coming.
