Doctor as the main villain and the level of control he has over the prison and laboratory areas, the player faces a new kind of danger as the Doctor tests them for his own amusement. Unfortunately, those tests make it easy to get lost in various areas while trying to complete puzzles.

Chapter 4 picks up right where Chapter 3 ends, putting the player on the elevator down to the prison with Poppy after Kissy Missy stayed behind. The opening focuses on showing this new area and building its atmosphere, but it doesn't take long for the threats of this location to make themselves known and start coming after the player. Luckily, the player has some toy allies this time, adding new layers to the divisions between the toys that have developed in the factory, with factions likely forming before it even shut down.

Navigating The Prison Can Be Tricky At Times

Going in without prior knowledge in Chapter 4, it takes roughly three hours to complete. This time can increase depending on how quickly players are able to solve the various puzzles required to progress, some of which can be frustrating. The puzzle in the labs that forces players to run between rooms and search corners for toys to get numbers can increase that time by a fair amount, because it's easy to get turned around and lost during that section due to the circumstances.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 Length Compared To Previous Games

It's On Par With Chapter 3, But Longer Than 1 & 2

Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 was also around three hours long, but that time could also be affected because of sections that can be confusing and turn players around, making them backtrack through areas. However, the first chapters were shorter, with Chapter 1 taking about an hour to clear, and Chapter 2 taking about two hours. With the most recent chapters being about the same length, it looks like three hours might be the sweet spot for Poppy Playtime.

Given the cliffhanger that ends Chapter 4, it's a matter of time until information about Chapter 5, such as its release date and possible new toys that might make an appearance, is revealed. Since the two recent chapters are about the same length, it could be that this is the length that the developers feel is ideal. If that's the case, then the remaining chapters could also be around three, or up to four, hours of exploring the dark secrets in Poppy Playtime.
