Doey's Story In Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 Is Truly Tragic
The Fan-Made Comic Captures The True Meaning Behind Doey's Final Words
The Reddit post showing this comic has spoilers for the ending of Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, but it does shed light on the final words said by Doey before his tragic end. Doey was a protector of the toys thanks to the Safe Haven he found after things went very wrong. Over time, other toys began to look to him for guidance, as Poppy was nowhere to be found and they needed to know where to go, what to do, and how they were going to find resources to survive.
The Reddit post by SwedishMeatballsYum shows Doey and one of the other toys together, with the toy showing Doey a sweet drawing they made. It then cuts to Doey crying, as he sees his friend ripped to pieces and blown up, with the words "This Is All Your Fault" at the top of the comic. This is powerful, as those are Doey's final words as he gets crushed to death in chapter 4, and blames the player for blowing up Safe Haven. While many of the deaths are technically the players' fault in this chapter, there could be someone else to blame as well, as Poppy did not listen to Doey's pleas about the explosives in the first place.
Our Take: We Need To That Within These Giant Toys Are The Hearts Of Children
The Minds Of Kids Are Inside Those "Monsters"
While their innocence may be gone due to the experiments and actions of Playtime Co., players need to remind themselves that under all of that dough was the heart and soul of a child. Under the evil face of CatNap was a child who didn't know any better and who was manipulated for years and years to do the Prototypes' bidding. This comic not only sheds light on the true meaning behind Doey's Words at the end of his life but showcases that Poppy had a lot to do with the death of his friends as well.
While we still don't know who the true villain is in Poppy Playtime, we do know two things; Doey did not deserve the death he faced in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, and each of those toys he protected will be greatly missed.
