The Power Rangers team, but not every season had cameos from other generations.

From 1993 to 1998, every Power Rangers show was part of the same overarching story that later became known as the Zordon Era. After Power Rangers in Space, the show started to have more standalone series, which made cameos and crossover episodes very special. From iconic Rangers showing up to help the younger generation to villains returning decades after their first appearance, Power Rangers knows how to do cameos.

10 Kimberly And Jason In Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie

Power Rangers Turbo’s Prelude Movie

Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie may not have been a great film, especially compared to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, but it at least gave us a reunion everyone had been waiting for since 1994. Amy Jo Johnson’s Kimberly and Austin St. John’s Jason showed up for a brief yet meaningful role in the Turbo film, marking the first time the original Pink and Red Rangers were reunited since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 2.

The original Red Ranger had already returned in Zeo, now as the second Gold Ranger. Amy Jo Johnson, on the other hand, had been away from the franchise since Kimberly left the team in MMPR season 3. Seeing two of the original Power Rangers together and interacting with the current team of heroes was a dream come true, even though Kimberly and Jason were brainwashed and had to fight their friends.

9 Justin In Power Rangers In Space

“True Blue To The Rescue”

Although the decision to replace Rocky with a child in Power Rangers Turbo was not universally praised, it was nice seeing Justin show up in Power Rangers in Space. Justin was the only one of the first Turbo Rangers to remain on the team after the new characters came in, yet he was the only one not to go to space at the end of the season. Not having Justin as part of the team in Power Rangers in Space was the right decision, but that doesn’t mean his cameo was not cool.

Mighty Morphin’s Kimberly is among the most iconic Power Rangers of all time, but the best Pink Ranger in the franchise first appeared in the 2000s.

Justin had been a member of the team up until five minutes before the events of Power Rangers in Space’s first episode, meaning it would have been odd not to acknowledge him at all his this new season, especially after the Rangers started to visit Earth more often. The Turbo Blue Ranger showing up to save the day in “True Blue to the Rescue” was a welcome surprise and made for a fun episode.

8 Adam In Power Rangers In Space

“Always A Chance”

One of the best Power Rangers episodes of all time, “Always a Chance” was more than just fanservice and used a nostalgic cameo to tell a beautiful story. Adam, the second Black Ranger, was the only MMPR Ranger to appear in Power Rangers in Space. That itself made “Always a Chance” an instant classic, but the way Adam’s return served Carlos’ character development made it even better.

Adam was also the Zeo Green Ranger and the first Turbo Green Ranger, meaning that he had been Carlos’ predecessor and somewhat of a mentor, even if briefly. With Carlos now being the In Space Black Ranger, it only made sense to bring back Adam with his MMPR colors. Adam’s bravery to morph into a damaged Power Coin inspired Carlos to keep fighting, leading to one of the best team-ups in the whole show.

7 The Veteran Red Rangers In Power Rangers Wild Force

“Forever Red”

Crossover episodes were nothing new for the show by the time Power Rangers Wild Force arrived, but “Forever Red” was so much more than just the usual team-up episode. To celebrate Power Rangers’ 10th anniversary, “Forever Red” brought most of the franchise’s Red Rangers back for an unforgettable crossover. Apart from Rocky, Jason’s replacement in Mighty Morphin, every Red Ranger was back for a mission led by Tommy Oliver and Andros.

Despite how awesome seeing ten Red Rangers assemble was, what truly made “Forever Red” a standout was how well each Ranger was written. Unlike a lot of other Power Rangers crossovers, “Forever Red” did not mischaracterize its heroes and wrote everyone as if they were in their original shows. This made the interactions between these Rangers, most of whom had never been in the same room with the others, even more fun.

6 Adam & Disney Era Rangers In Power Rangers Operation Overdrive

“Once A Ranger”

Power Rangers Operation Overdrive was not one of Disney’s best seasons, but it gave us a very unique crossover featuring a never-before-seen team formed by five Rangers of five different seasons. Adam once again returned as the Mighty Morphin Black Ranger, this time teaming up with four Disney-era RangersNinja Storm’s Tori, Dino Thunder’s Kira, Mystic Force’s Xander, and S.P.D.’s Bridge.

Sky became S.P.D.'s Earth Base's Commander, with Bridge becoming the new Red Ranger.

“Always A Ranger” took many by surprise by having Bridge show up as the S.P.D. Red Ranger, a role that had belonged to Jack and Sky in Power Rangers S.P.D. Although it would have made more sense to have either Jack or Sky as Red in Operation Overdrive, seeing four Disney Rangers teaming up with an MMPR icon was a lot of fun. Disney’s seasons were mostly standalone and self-contained, which is why this crossover was such a big deal.

5 The Legendary Rangers In Power Rangers Super Megaforce

“Legendary Battle”

Power Rangers Super Megaforce is often listed as one of the worst seasons of the show, particularly because of how much potential it had compared to what it delivered. The failure of the “Legendary Battle,” a crossover that was supposed to honor 20 years of Power Rangers, is the best example of it. Way too short and full of inconsistencies, “Legendary Battle” did not live up to the expectations set up by its Super Sentai counterpart.

Power Rangers’ Version Of The Avengers’ Portals Scene Happened 5 Years Before Endgame

Five years before the Avengers fought Thanos and his army in Endgame, the Power Rangers universe had its own version of the iconic “portals scene.”

That being said, seeing characters such as Cassie, T.J., Leo, Dana, and Carter back after years was exciting, even if for only a couple of very brief scenes. Power Rangers could have done a much better job with the “Legendary Battle,” but that doesn't exclude the fact that the returns of characters from the 1990s and early 2000s were very cool.

4 Jason In Power Rangers Beast Morphers

“Grid Connection”

Power Rangers Beast Morphers came out at a time when the franchise had somewhat moved on from the original MMPR characters, with only Tommy being more of a recurrent figure in crossovers and special seasons like Dino Thunder. This is why seeing Jason back in his Red Ranger form in “Grid Connection” was so fun. It had been 16 years since the original Red Ranger last appeared on screen, at least without his helmet.

After MMPR, Dino Thunder, and Dino Charge, Power Rangers would still have another dinosaur-themed season, 2021's Dino Fury.

Jason’s role in “Grid Connection” was brief, although he did get to fight a new version of classic MMPR villain Goldar. “Grid Connection” was also a “dino crossover,” with Rangers from Mighty Morphin, Dino Thunder, and Dino Charge all teaming up. Although Jason’s old team was technically there, none of them removed their helmets, meaning that the original Red Ranger was the only proper cameo.

3 Lord Zedd In Power Rangers Dino Fury

Multiple Episodes

Lord Zedd was the main villain of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, but before that, he appeared in a couple of episodes of Power Rangers Dino Fury. Returning over 20 years after his last appearance on the show, Lord Zedd elevated an already fun season and made Dino Fury into a legacy sequel to MMPR. While Dino Fury did not worry too much about how Zedd could be back after being purified by the Z-Wave in 1998, the classic Power Rangers villain stole the show.

In BOOM! Studios' Power Rangers canon, Lord Zedd is from the same planet and species as Zordon.

Zedd’s return brought the show full circle, particularly because he also returned in Cosmic Fury, which is currently the final entry in the Power Rangers chronology. Considering that Lord Zedd was technically the first villain of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – Rita was working for her after all – seeing him back almost 30 years after his introduction in the original show made for a great cameo.

2 Mick In Power Rangers Cosmic Fury

Multiple Episodes

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury was full of cameos and special returns, including Billy Cranston. However, considering that the original Blue Ranger was a recurrent character in the season, it would be unfair to label him as a cameo. Mick Kanick, on the other hand, was a fun surprise in Power Rangers season 30. While Kelson Henderson had been involved in the Power Rangers universe for years, Mick was arguably his best character in the franchise.

Ninja Steel was not a great season, but Mick was a great ing character. After appearing for an episode in Dino Fury, the tech genius who has a fix to every problem showed up in the opening battle of Cosmic Fury. With the help of the Morphin Masters, Mick was given powers and was able to morph into the Red Ninja Steel Ranger. He would make a couple of other appearances on the season and even ed the Rangers in battle twice.

1 Heckyl In Power Rangers Cosmic Fury

Multiple Episodes

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury went all in with cameos and even redeemed the Power Ranger that never was from Dino Charge. Once a villain due to his evil alter ego that took over, Heckyl was written very much like a character who was supposed to become a Power Ranger. However, while there was a Super Sentai Ranger counterpart to Heckyl in a movie, Dino Charge was not able to use it on the show.

Heckyl had previously appeared as the Dark Ranger in BOOM! Studios' Beyond The Grid arc.

By the time Cosmic Fury happened, the Dark Ranger could finally be used in the American series. Not only did Cosmic Fury bring Heckyl from another universe to help the Rangers against Lord Zedd, but it also showed him as the Dark Ranger. Heckyl’s role in Cosmic Fury was brief, but it at least made Power Rangers fans' wish come true.
