The Morphin' Grid Is Visualized At Long Last

Once Dark Specter and Mistress Vile's plan comes to fruition in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #112, Billy wakes up surrounded by illuminating colors, matching those of the average Rangers team. The recently deceased Grace Sterling – or, rather, a program of her younger self she installed to activate upon her death – explains to Billy that he is currently in the Morphin' Grid. His former mentor, and the first Red Ranger, Grace explains she installed her transmitter to send Billy to a safe place in the event of the worst happening, ing the Morphin' Grid as the safest place possible.

Grace adds that while this is indeed the Grid, it likely looks different to different people. Ever since the term was first coined in the fourth episode of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, "A Pressing Engagement," the Morphin' Grid has become a vital staple of Rangers lore. This is the closest view that audiences have ever gotten of the Morphin' Grid. This isn't the first time that a Ranger has entered the Grid, though. Lord Drakkon was previously connected to the Grid, while the original Tommy Oliver was shown glimpses of being pulled into the Grid by The Emissaries Three upon his death in the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Shattered Grid finale one-shot.

The Morphin Grid Might Look Different Next Time

Again, it's mentioned in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #112 that the Grid may look different to different people, which allows the franchise some wiggle room in case the Grid does make another appearance, and happens to look differently; in fact, this could be foreshadowing that the Morphin' Grid will be making another appearance in the series, and might look different to its next visitor. After all, the Blue Ranger has been tasked with repairing the inside of the Morphin' Grid, which has been infected thanks to the former Rita Repulsa, meaning more of the Grid will at least be seen as this latest Power Rangers arc plays out.
