Here’s how to watch A Christmas Prince in 2017. The holiday rom-com franchise The Princess Switch has produced some of Netflix’s most popular Christmas movies to date.
The first entry was released in 2018 and stars Vanessa Hudgens in a dual role as Stacy De Novo and Lady Margaret Delacourt – a Chicago baker and a European princess, respectively, who agree to switch places in the run-up to Christmas after discovering they look remarkably similar. A sequel, The Princess Switch: Switched Again, arrived in 2020 and introduced Margaret’s scheming British cousin Lady Fiona Pembroke (also played by Hudgens). The franchise’s most recent and third installment, The Princess Switch 3: Romancing The Star, was released in 2021 and saw Hudgens’ three characters team up once more to locate a stolen relic, leading to plenty of hijinks.
Luckily, The Princess Switch 3 is pretty easy to watch online. While it’s not on Hulu or Prime, the movie is available to watch with Netflix – which makes sense seeing as it’s a Netflix Original. Even better, subscribers can watch the first two installments in the festive rom-com franchise – The Princess Switch and The Princess Switch: Switched Again – with the streaming service too.
Interestingly, The Princess Switch film series is part of a budding Holiday In The Wild on TV. The movies A Christmas Prince and Christmas Inheritance have both been watched by characters in The Princess Switch franchise which also features cameos from characters originating in the Christmas Prince franchise.
Fans of the Hudgens-fronted franchise are already wondering whether The Princess Switch 3 will be followed by The Princess Switch 4. Unfortunately, there’s no news on that front at the moment but Netflix has announced a few festive titles set for release in late 2022 including Best. Christmas. Ever. and Auntie Claus. Here’s hoping that a sequel to The Princess Switch 3 will make its way onto Netflix’s festive slate in the near future.
