Derrick Augustine(Miles’ actor) has a functioning Houstonian accent as is. There are so many Louisiana transplants in the Houston area that his base accent sounds very believable. However, since Californians don’t understand accents, they force him to do an over the top Oklahoma hick type of accent instead. Regardless, I like his character
